Overview
The Fee Comparison section in Digital Advice provides a transparent breakdown of Administration Fees used in strategy comparisons. To enhance clarity, we have introduced a descriptive tooltip that explains how the Administration Fee is calculated. This includes a detailed fee breakup and access to a downloadable Excel file with the underlying formulae.
In addition, Fee Aggregation allows you to combine eligible balances of the client and linked family members to calculate a reduced Administration Fee, where supported by the platform. The proportional fee is then applied to the client’s holding, potentially lowering overall costs.
Access
You can access this functionality within:
Digital Advice > Scenarios > SOA Strategy > Fee Comparison
The tooltip and Fee Aggregation features are currently available for SOA strategies that trigger the comparison screen.
Fee Aggregation is currently available for the following SOA strategies:
Superannuation Strategies |
|
SMSF Strategies |
|
Investment Strategies |
|
The feature is also available in the research section of Digital Advice Tools
Digital Advice> Advice Tools > Platform Fees/Super Fees
Administration Fee Breakup
In the Fee Comparison screen, hover over or select the tooltip icon next to the Administration Fee to view a detailed breakdown of the factors used in the calculation.
Scenario Comparison
Research Comparison
When selected, the tooltip displays all factors considered in calculating the Administration Fee. This provides greater transparency and assists with the validation of the comparison outcomes.
📌Note
This feature is currently available for SOA strategies that trigger the comparison screen.
Fee Aggregation
Fee Aggregation allows the combined balances of the client and eligible family members to be used when calculating the Administration Fee. The resulting aggregated fee is then proportionally applied to the client’s holding.
This may reduce the Administration Fee for each linked family member, depending on the platform’s rate structure.
Supported Platforms
Currently, this functionality is available for the following platforms:
BT Panorama - Please read the disclaimer
HUB24
MLC
Praemium
Macquarie
Allan Gray
IOOF Group
Acclaim
FirstWrap
Commonwealth
AusPrac
Netwealth
How to Apply Fee Aggregation
If Fee Aggregation is supported for a platform, the Fee Aggregation option will appear when you hover over the platform name in the Fee Comparison screen.
To apply Fee Aggregation, hover over the platform name and select Fee Aggregation. The Fee Aggregation pop-up window will open.
The client’s account balance will be pre-populated using values from the Fee Comparison screen. If a cash account balance is not chargeable under the Administration Fee, it will be excluded automatically.
Enter the total amount of eligible account balances to be aggregated, excluding the client’s existing account balance, and select Next.
The Administration Fee will then be calculated using the combined balances entered. If required, select the pencil icon to edit the aggregated balance. The calculations will update automatically.
The pop-up window displays both:
Administration Fee (with Aggregation)
Administration Fee (without Aggregation)
You can expand the view by minimising the aggregated section or scrolling down the page to view the detailed fee breakup.
How to Edit or Unlink Fee Aggregation
Edit Fee Aggregation
Once Fee Aggregation has been applied, you can update the aggregated balances at any time.
To begin, navigate to the Fee Comparison screen and hover over the relevant platform name. Select Fee Aggregation, then choose Edit from the available options.
At the top of the window, you will see:
Account Balance – the client’s balance used in the comparison
Aggregated Balance – the total combined balance used for aggregation
Fees post-aggregation – the recalculated Administration Fee
To modify the aggregated balance directly, select the pencil icon next to the Aggregated Balance amount. This will allow you to update the aggregated value. The Administration Fee will automatically recalculate.
The detailed member entry screen will open, where individual balances can be adjusted:
Select or change the Member from the dropdown list
Select or change the Platform
Enter or update the account balance to be aggregated
Remove an entry using the delete icon
Available member types may include the primary client, partner, SMSF, joint entities, or other linked members, depending on the client structure.
After updating the relevant balances, select Next from the top right of the window to return to the summary screen.
Review the updated Administration Fee breakdown, then select Save to apply the changes.
📌Note
The breakdown section will display both the aggregated and non-aggregated Administration Fee amounts, allowing you to compare the impact before saving.
Saving Changes
Once you have edited the fee aggregation, select Save from the top right of the window.
After selecting Save, a notification will appear and the Administration Fee on the Fee Comparison screen will update to reflect the Administration Fee (with Aggregation).
The fee breakup remains accessible via the same tooltip after aggregation is applied.
Unlink Fee Aggregation
To remove aggregation, hover over the platform name and select Fee Aggregation, then choose Unlink.
Aggregation will be removed and the Administration Fee values will reset accordingly.
Tooltip Footnotes
The tooltip includes additional footnotes providing:
Rate Card Information – Indicates whether the platform rate card is based on the PDS or the Licensee’s custom rate card associated with your practice.
Fee Aggregation Methodology – A summary of how the Administration Fee (with Aggregation) is calculated for the selected platform.
Reset Functionality
If you manually amend the Administration Fee directly on the Fee Comparison screen, the tooltip will be replaced by a reset icon because the breakup can no longer be displayed for the modified fee.
When you select the reset icon, the Administration Fee will revert to its previous value and the tooltip will be restored.
Without Aggregation – The fee resets to the previous non-aggregated value.
With Aggregation – The fee resets to the previous aggregated value.
Downloading All Comparisons
Selecting the download icon within the tooltip will generate an Excel file containing copies of all comparisons shown on the Fee Comparison screen.
The file includes:
Scenario | Included in Excel |
Without Aggregation | Calculations with formulae based on the client’s account balance |
With Aggregation | Calculations with formulae based on both client and aggregated balances |
Advice Document Output
In the advice document, the Product Cost Comparisons table will reflect the updated Aggregated Administration Fee where applicable.
A disclaimer will be included at the bottom of the comparison table outlining:
That fee aggregation has been applied
The impact of aggregation
The savings achieved as a result
⚠️ Important Considerations
Fee Aggregation is only available for supported platforms and strategies listed above.
Any manual adjustments made to exported Excel files must be replicated in the Fee Comparison screen if you want them reflected in AdviserLogic.
Downloading the Aggregation Report
To download a detailed Excel report, select the download arrow in the top left corner of the Fee Aggregation pop-up window.
The Excel file includes:
Calculations with and without Aggregation
All formulae used
Inputs reflected from the Fee Comparison screen
This enables validation of both scenarios and provides easy access to review or adjust inputs if required.
📌Note
Changes made directly in the Excel file will not be reflected in the Fee Comparison screen unless manually updated in AdviserLogic.
BT Panorama – Important information on Fee Aggregation Changes (Effective 1 October 2025)
⚠️Important
This does not impact historical calculations created prior to 1 October 2025 unless they are recalculated after that date.
This issue only affects cases where Fee Aggregation is applied.
Any BT Panorama recommendations prepared between 1 October 2025 and 25 Feruary 2026 that include Fee Aggregation may display an Administration Fee that does not align with the updated BT Panorama structure.
Standard BT Panorama account fee calculations without aggregation were updated on October 1, 2025.
BT Panorama updated the way administration fees (asset-based) are tiered when Family Fee Aggregation is applied across grouped or related accounts. This change was implemented by BT Panorama from 1 October 2025.
As a result of this update, AdviserLogichas enhanced our calculation methodology to reflect BT Panorama’s revised tiering structure. This update was implemented on February 25 2026
This applies specifically to:
Digital Advice > Scenarios > Fees where Fee Aggregation has been added
Digital Advice > Advice Tools > Super Fee Comparison where Fee Aggregation has been added
This may impact:
Fee Comparison screen outputs
Scenario modelling results
Product Cost Comparison tables in advice documents
Where Fee Aggregation is applied to:
BT Panorama Full menu, or
BT Panorama Compact menu,
The Administration Fee may not align with BT Panorama’s updated tiered structure between 1 October 2025 and February 25 2026
What we have done
We updated our internal methodology and calculation logic to align with BT Panorama’s revised:
Fee Aggregation tiered thresholds
Asset-based Administration Fee rates effective 1 October 2025
This enhancement will ensure that:
Future recommendations reflect the correct BT Panorama tiering structure
Any recalculations performed after release apply the updated methodology
Administration Fee outcomes align with BT Panorama’s structure for grouped accounts
This update was released on February 25 2026.
Currently, the BT Panorama Full and Compact menu Fee Aggregation are calculated using the updated tiered structure introduced in October 2025.
Administration Fees in Fee Comparison and Scenario modelling will align with BT Panorama’s revised thresholds.
Advice document outputs will reflect the correct aggregated Administration Fee amounts.
⚠️Important
If you have prepared advice or recommendations where Fee Aggregation applies, please review and manually adjust the BT Panorama Administration Fees for recommendations created between 1 October 2025 and 25 February 2026 using the instructions below
Manual Process
In the interim, we understand it is important that your advice documents reflect accurate Administration Fee outcomes when Fee Aggregation is applied to BT Panorama.
If you have prepared a recommendation that includes BT Panorama Fee Aggregation between 1 October 2025 and February 25 2026, you can manually adjust the Administration Fee to ensure it aligns with BT Panorama’s updated tiering structure
Navigate to the relevant Fee Comparison or Scenario screen and manually override the Administration Fee to the correct value.
You can calculate the updated Administration Fee using BT Panorama’s official calculator:
After calculating the correct amount externally, enter the updated dollar or percentage value directly into the Administration Fee field.
📌Note
When the Administration Fee is manually edited, the tooltip breakup will be replaced by a reset icon because the system-generated breakdown no longer applies.
