Overview
To enhance the security of AdviserLogic and better protect user data, we have introduced updated session timeout settings. This enhancement shortens the inactive session duration and includes a notification prompt to warn you before your session expires.
The notification provides you with enough time to remain signed in and save your work before being automatically logged out due to inactivity. These changes help reduce the risk of unauthorised access while maintaining a secure working environment within AdviserLogic.
Details
Session Timeout Duration: Previously, users were automatically signed out after 6 hours of inactivity. This has now been reduced to 60 minutes.
Notification Pop-Up: A warning pop-up will appear after 55 minutes of inactivity, giving you 5 minutes to either extend the session or complete your work before being logged out automatically.
Automatic Logout: If no action is taken within the 5-minute warning period, the system will log you out at 60 minutes. You will then need to log back in to continue their session.
Why This Change?
The reduction in session timeout aligns with best practices in security, helping to prevent unauthorised access to your account in the event that your session is left unattended.
How It Works
After 55 minutes of inactivity - A pop-up notification will appear, reminding you to either extend your session or prepare to sign out.
If no action is taken - The system will automatically log you out after 60 minutes of inactivity.
To avoid being logged out - Simply interact with the platform before the 60-minute period ends to reset the timer.
What Do I Need to Do?
You do not need to take any action to enable this feature; it is applied automatically across all AdviserLogic accounts.
However, be sure to save your work regularly and extend your session when prompted to avoid losing any unsaved changes.
