Overview
Quick Notes is a handy feature within AdviserLogic that allows you to capture and save important reminders, observations, or client-related notes instantly — without needing to open the full client record.
Whether it’s a follow-up task, conversation summary, or key client information, Quick Notes helps you stay organised and maintain clear, accurate records. This flexible tool streamlines your documentation process, ensuring no critical information is missed while promoting efficiency and compliance.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to create, manage, and access Quick Notes to support your advice process and enhance client service.
Access
To access the Quick Notes feature, navigate to the left menu panel in your AdviserLogic interface.
Hover over the menu to expand it, then select Quick Notes from the available options to get started.

This panel remains visible across all modules, providing easy and consistent access at any time.
Add Quick Notes
The Quick Note window contains several fields designed to capture key information efficiently.
You can easily record details such as the date, title, category, and related entities, ensuring all important aspects of the interaction are documented.
This streamlined approach allows you to add notes on the go, keeping your records comprehensive and organised — all without disrupting your workflow.
Quick Notes Fields
Type and select the client to allocate the file note to the correct record. | |
Add a descriptive title to your file note for easy identification. | |
Select the date from the calendar pop-up and enter the time of the interaction. | |
Choose a category from the drop-down list to classify your note appropriately. | |
💬Comments | Add detailed comments using the Word-inspired control panel, allowing for rich text formatting where needed. |

To add a file note to a client record:
Navigate to Quick Notes from the left menu panel.
Start typing the client’s name in the Client Name field and select the correct client from the drop-down list.
Complete the Title, Date/Time, Category, and Comments fields with the relevant information.
If needed, attach files using Manage Attachments and add any supporting details.
Select Lock Record if you want to prevent future edits (optional).
Create a Task directly from the file note if follow-up action is required (optional).
Save the note to update the client’s record.
Your file note will now be stored against the selected client, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
👤Client Name
Start typing the client's name and select the client from the dropdown list populated.
📌Note
You will not be able to save the Quick Note unless the Client Name has been added.
🔤Title
Type a descriptive title that makes the file note easy to identify and search for later.
💡Tip
It’s a good idea to establish a keyword strategy for your practice. Using consistent keywords in file note titles makes searching and reporting easier, helping you quickly locate important records when needed.
📅 Date / 🕧Time
Select the date from the pop-out calendar to record when the interaction or note took place.
⏱️ Time
Enter the time in 24-hour format to accurately record the interaction.
📌Note
he system will default to the current date and time, but you can adjust these fields as needed.
📂 Category
Select a category from the drop-down list to classify the file note appropriately.

To create a new category Follow the File Notes Category Creation Instructions scroll to the bottom of the drop-down, select <Add New> and follow the prompts
💬 Comments
Add descriptive comments to your file note using the Word-inspired control panel for easy formatting and clarity.
🖇️ Manage Attachments
Manage Attachments is a collapsible section where you can upload documents to the file note. Select the heading to expand and use this feature as needed.

You may need to scroll down to see this option within the Quick Notes window
Select Upload Files to open the document upload interface.
Drag and drop files or browse your device to upload them in the Document Upload window.
You can upload multiple files at once. Uploaded files will appear in a list where you can edit the Name field or remove a file by selecting the 🗑️Rubbish Bin icon next to the file.
For File Notes that require a lot of large uploads that will take some time, you can minimise the upload window and continue working by selecting the Window Size tool from the top left of the window.
Once you Save the uploads they will populate the Manage Attachment section, where they can be Previewed, Downloaded, or Deleted.
🔒 Lock Record
The Lock Record button prevents further editing of the file note once applied. You can also tick the Lock box from the main window when initially adding the file note.
🚧Important🚧
Locking is permanent and cannot be reversed.
If you navigate to the Manage Attachments section before locking the file note, you can lock the note by selecting the Lock button located in the lower-left corner of either the Main or Manage Attachments views.
A confirmation prompt will appear, giving you three options:
✅ Save and Lock – Saves any changes made and locks the file note.
🔒 Lock Without Saving – Locks the file note without saving recent changes.
❌ Do Not Lock – Cancels the lock action and keeps the file note editable.
📄 Create as Task
Create a task directly from the file note by selecting the Create as Task button. This helps streamline follow-up actions and task management.
Complete the necessary fields to create a Task from the File Note in the Task Details window.
📌Note
The fields will automatically correspond to the task fields in Workflow 2.0. For detailed guidance, refer to the Task Creation Instructions for a step-by-step guide on completing the Task Details window.
💾 Save
Select Save to store your file note and ensure all entered details are recorded.
Once saved it will be listed in the client's File Notes screen.
