How to Set Up the Birthday SMS in AdviserLogic

Overview

The Birthday SMS feature is an automated messaging tool designed to send personalised SMS to clients on their birthdays. It allows you to celebrate clients in a thoughtful, yet time-efficient way, creating a sense of personal connection without the need for manual reminders or last-minute tasks.

Sending a birthday message adds a personal touch, showing clients they are valued beyond the usual business interactions. This small gesture can significantly enhance client satisfaction and loyalty. Regular, friendly communication helps maintain top-of-mind awareness with clients, opening opportunities for further engagement and follow-up conversations.

In this article, we'll guide you through setting up an automated, customised SMS to celebrate your clients' birthdays. Once configured, the Birthday SMS feature runs automatically, allowing you to effortlessly stay connected with clients on their special day.

By leveraging the Birthday SMS feature, you can foster stronger client relationships in a simple, efficient, and consistent way.

📌Note

This option is only available for Adviser-level logins. The Birthday SMS system applies the template based on the Client's Adviser, so each Adviser can have their own personalised message.

For this reason, the Birthday SMS Template cannot be set up from within a Paraplanner or Support User Account.

Access​​

Navigate to Tools > Adviser Tools > SMS Messaging > SMS Profile.

Set From Value

Enter the information in the field marked SMS From by choosing it from the available options of previously created SMS Profiles. You can either enter a Name or your Phone number. Select the <Add New> option to create a new profile.

📌Note

If you set the SMS From field to a phone number, any replies from your clients will go directly to that number. However, if you set the SMS From field to a name, such as 'John Smith,' your clients will see this name as the sender but will not be able to reply to the message.

If you choose to use your name as the sender, it’s important to add a 'do not reply' line to your SMS template. This ensures clients know the message is one-way and helps avoid any confusion about reply expectations.

SMS Template Setup

To set up the SMS Template, select options from the Insert Code dropdown in the template editor. These options allow you to pull client and adviser information directly from AdviserLogic, making it easy to customise each message with relevant details, such as the client’s name, adviser contact, or specific account information.

You can further personalise the message by typing directly into the Text field, creating a warm, tailored greeting that enhances the client's experience. The combination of the Insert Code fields and manual text entry lets you create a customised, professional message with minimal effort.

Once you are satisfied with the template, select the Save Template button beneath the text box. This template will be sent to all clients with Send Birthday SMS enabled on the date of their birth as entered in the Fact Find.

Enable Birthday SMS

To enable the Birthday SMS on a client account navigate to Fact Find 2.0 > Personal > Contact > Additional Preferences > Send Birthday SMS
