Overview
The SMS system in AdviserLogic provides an easy way to communicate with clients, enhancing engagement and streamlining client interactions. This feature allows you to send timely reminders, updates, and personalised messages directly from the platform, ensuring efficient and professional communication.

By leveraging the SMS system, you can strengthen client relationships, reduce missed appointments, and ensure a more connected, responsive client experience.
SMS Setup
Set up an SMS profile - this profile can either be a mobile number or a name.
The number or name will be what recipients will see as the sender.
⚠️Important
Recipients can only reply if you use a mobile number to setup the profile.
Navigate to Tools > Adviser Tools > SMS Messages > SMS Profile
📢 SMS Profile Setup – Choose Your Sender ID
📳 Enter a mobile number – Replies will be sent directly to your number.
🔤 Enter a name – Messages will be one-way, and recipients cannot reply.
Choose the option that best suits your communication needs!
To add an SMS profile, enter a Name or your Mobile Phone Number in the SMS From field. This will be the sender ID displayed on client messages.
💡Tip
📳When adding a mobile phone number
Omit the initial zero and ensure it follows the format: [+][country code][mobile number]
Example: +61412345678 for an Australian number.
You will receive a Verification Code to confirm the number.
🔤When adding a Name/Alpha Tag
No mobile verification is required.
If you prefer to use an Alpha Tag, please follow the verification instructions below.

You may add a landline number, please follow the Alpha tag verification instructions below
Ensure the landline number is correct, as it will not support SMS replies.
Once you have entered your mobile number, select Save & Verify to create an SMS profile.
📌Note
If you receive an error message regarding the Mobile number setup please ensure you have entered the +61 code before entering your mobile number.
You will receive a Verification Code on your nominated mobile number. Enter this code to complete the verification process.

To send SMS messages using AdviserLogic, you must manually verify your SMS profile number.
You will need to re-verify your mobile number every 12 months to continue sending SMS messages.
🗓️ Recommendation - We suggest setting a task/reminder in AdviserLogic to ensure timely re-verification. This will prevent any disruptions in your SMS communication.
Keeping your number verified ensures seamless messaging and uninterrupted client engagement.
The time it takes for your OTP code to arrive will depend on your mobile provider's network conditions at the time.
Enter the verification code sent to your mobile to create your SMS profile. Once verified, you can send SMS messages using the provided number.
A confirmation will show in the bottom left corner of the SMS Screen, and the Status of the Profile will show as Approved.
Edit existing profiles by selecting and editing them in the SMS From field.

Each user must have a unique SMS profile.
To add a new profile, select Reset then enter the new profile.
SMS Profile Management
SMS Profile Management in AdviserLogic allows you to customise and control your SMS communication settings, ensuring a professional, branded, and efficient client engagement experience.
With SMS Profile Management, you can:
Manage Multiple SMS Profiles – Easily update or switch between different profiles as needed.
Monitor Verification Status – Check and manage the verification status of your saved profiles.
Customise Sender ID – Choose between a verified mobile number (for replies) or an Alpha Tag (for branded one-way communication).
Status of Mobile-Based SMS Profiles
You can check the verification status of your mobile-based SMS profiles in AdviserLogic to ensure they are active and ready for use. Follow these steps:
Navigate to the SMS Profile Section – Go to Settings > SMS Profile Management in AdviserLogic.
Locate Your Mobile-Based Profile – Find the profile linked to your mobile number.
Check Verification Status Column:
Approved | The profile is active, and you can send SMS messages. ✅ |
Expiring | The profile is nearing expiration—renew verification soon. ⏳ |
Expired | The profile is inactive — re-verification is required. ❌ |
Blank | No verification status is available —contact support if necessary. ⚠️ |

These values apply only to mobile-based profiles.

Alpha Tags, Text-based sender names, and Landline-based profiles will show as blank in the verification status column.
To reinstate an expired or expiring SMS profile select the profile from the list and select the Save and Verify button again to recommence the verification steps.
Default SMS Profile
The Default SMS Profile in AdviserLogic allows you to set a primary sender ID for all outgoing SMS messages. This ensures consistency in communication and prevents the need to select a sender each time.
You may select the default profile by checking the Default tick-box beneath the SMS From field.
The current default SMS profile will have the tick box greyed out, indicating that it is already set as the primary sender and cannot be deselected.
👉To change the Default SMS Profile, select a different profile by ticking its Default checkbox. This will automatically update your default sender ID.
Alpha Tag Setup
Setting up an Alpha Tag in AdviserLogic is a key step in ensuring your SMS communications are branded, professional, and easily recognisable by clients. A verified Alpha Tag allows you to send SMS messages using your business name instead of a phone number, reinforcing trust and credibility.
Why Use an Alpha Tag?
📨 Branded Messaging – Clients will see your business name instead of an unknown number.
📧 Professional Client Communication – Enhance trust and recognition with a consistent sender ID.
📩One-Way Messaging – Messages sent with an Alpha Tag cannot receive replies, ensuring clear outbound communication.
How to Set Up & Verify Your Alpha Tag
1️⃣ Enter Your Business Name as the Alpha Tag – This will appear as the sender ID on client messages.
2️⃣ Submit for Verification – AdviserLogic requires Alpha Tags to be verified to prevent misuse.
3️⃣ Wait for Confirmation – Once approved, your Alpha Tag will be activated, allowing you to send branded SMS messages.
By setting up a verified Alpha Tag, you can ensure your SMS communications reflect your brand, creating a professional and consistent client experience.
Entering the SMS Profile Name / Alpha Tag
To begin, follow these steps to set up and verify your Alpha Tag for SMS communications:
Navigate to Tools > Adviser Tools > SMS Messages > SMS Profile
Enter Your SMS Alpha Tag – This is the name that will appear as the sender of your SMS messages. Select Save and Verify.
Your Profile will be created
⚠️Important
Avoid using spaces for multi-word Alpha Tags. Instead, use hyphens to link the words together.
Requesting Alpha Tag Verification
Once you’ve saved the SMS Profile:
Contact AdviserLogic Support by either sending an email, starting a chat, or calling the support team directly to request verification for your Alpha Tag.
The support team will then raise a ticket with the SMS Broadcast team to verify the Alpha Tag.
Final Verification and SMS Activation
✅ Once the SMS Broadcast Team verifies the Alpha Tag, AdviserLogic will notify you that the setup is complete.
📨 You can now send SMS messages directly from AdviserLogic using your verified Alpha Tag, ensuring branded, professional communication.

Send SMS
Select SMS Profile
To send your SMS - Navigate to Tools > Adviser Tools > SMS Messaging > Advanced SMS
Select your previously created profile from the drop-down box next to the From field.
Choose Recipients
When composing an SMS, you can select the "To" button to choose recipients. You have multiple options to add clients:
Manually Enter Names – Type in the client's name to add them individually.
Select from Client List – Browse and choose recipients from your saved client records.
Use Filters – Add multiple clients based on specific filters such as service type,
status, or demographics.
Select Client Groups – Choose a predefined group from the Select Group dropdown for bulk messaging.
This flexibility allows you to efficiently target the right clients with personalised SMS communication.
⚠️Note
Your client must have a mobile number added in the Fact Find > Contacts section for your clients to show in the SMS module.
Group Management
The Group Management feature works identically to the Email function, allowing you to save and select groups of recipients based on General or Financial Filters. This enables efficient bulk messaging to specific client segments.
To access Group Management for SMS
Navigate to the Compose SMS screen. Select Group Management from the top right.
Save or select a predefined group based on filters

Composing SMS Message
To compose your SMS, simply type directly into the text box, just like a regular SMS function.
Personalisation with Client Data:
Use the Insert Code dropdown to select relevant dynamic codes that automatically pull in individual client details, even when sending a bulk SMS.
Examples include client name, policy details, or appointment dates for a personalised touch.
This ensures your SMS messages are engaging, efficient, and tailored to each recipient.

Automatic File Notes for SMS Messages
Any SMS sent from this screen will automatically be recorded as a File Note in the client’s record.
This saves time and ensures all interactions are tracked for compliance and client engagement.

Your AdviserLogic account includes 10 free SMS messages by default.
After using these, you will need to purchase additional SMS credits to continue sending messages.

Purchasing SMS Credits
Selecting Purchase alerts AdviserLogic's Accounts Department, which will add a $50 charge to your next Direct Debit.
Character Limits & SMS Splitting
You can write up to 765 characters, but messages over 160 characters will be split into multiple SMS. The form will display the character count and cost before sending.

Supported SMS Characters
To ensure SMS Broadcast works reliably, only the following characters are allowed:
