How To Upload And Send a New FSG (Financial Services Guide)

Overview

A Financial Services Guide (FSG) helps clients understand the financial services you offer, enabling them to make informed decisions. Advisers must provide this document when offering certain financial services to clients, particularly retail clients. AdviserLogic allows you to upload, manage, and send your FSGs efficiently through the platform.

Access

To upload or manage your FSGs:

Navigate to Tools > Administrative Tools > Practice Management > Categories.

Alternatively, go to Tools > Compliance > FSG Compliance

Select Set Up FSG Version.

Additionally you can create a new FSG Version by navigating to fact Find > Internal from a client record.

Selecting +Add New from the FSG Version drop down.

All these options will navigate to the FSG Setup Screen

Instructions

Upload a New FSG

From the Categories screen, select FSG Versions from the list. Select Add from the top right corner of the window.

Enter the name of the new FSG version.

Tick the Current Version checkbox to mark the new version as active.

📌Note

  • Marking the FSG Version as Current will make it the system Default this is the version that will be sent via Bulk Sending Instructions, and will overide manually entered values in the Fact Find.

  • Hovering over the file after saving will display it as the current version. It will be highlighted in blue with a green tick.

  • Additional Instructions on FSG Categories can be found within the FSG Categories Instructions

To hide previous versions, select the FSG version you want to hide and tick the Hide checkbox.


Use the File option to upload the new FSG document from your system. Once uploaded, select Save.

📌Note

Supported file types include: doc, .docx, .jpeg, .pdf, .ppt, .tif, .psd, .xls, .xlsx..

To download a previously uploaded file, click the down arrow next to the file name

Create an FSG Email Template

You can set up a custom email template to accompany your FSG from the FSG setup window.

Select Email Template on the FSG setup screen.

This opens a new window where you can follow the general email template creation process.

To attach a document, select Attach. Choose either Browse or Adviser Docs to upload a file, then click OK.


Type your email content freely or copy and paste from an existing document. You can use the Insert Code options to personalise the email using client data from AdviserLogic.

Once your email template is ready, click Save.

📌Note

If the email template is left blank, AdviserLogic will send a default version.


Navigate back to the setup screen by selecting the Back to FSG Version button from the top right of the FSG Template window.

Assign FSG Version to Client

To assign an FSG version to a client navigate to Fact Find > Internal > Additional Information from the clients record.

Select a perviously created FSG version or add a new one from the drop down options within the FSG Version section.

Send the FSG in Bulk

To send your FSG to multiple clients, navigate to Tools > Compliance including FOFA > FSG Compliance.

Ensure your FSG template is current before proceeding. Use the search bar to find clients and tick the boxes next to their names.

You can also filter by adviser using the dropdown at the top. Once you've selected the recipients, click Send FSG in the top right corner.


📌Note

  • If a client's email is missing or incorrect, the FSG will not be sent.

  • If the Primary Client has no email, the Partner’s email will be used instead.

  • The system treats Client + Partner as a joint entity and sends one email to both.

Once the FSG has been successfully sent, the FSG version will be updated in Fact Find > Internal > Additional Information.

📌Note

Regardless of the FSG version entered into the Clients Fact Find, only the FSG version Marked current will be sent and the client's fact Find will be updated to reflect this
