Overview
The Tasks Widget on the Adviser Home dashboard is a powerful tool for managing client-related tasks efficiently. It provides a clear overview of pending, completed, and upcoming tasks, ensuring you stay organised and up to date with client engagements, compliance requirements, and workflow priorities.
With this widget, you can easily view, track, and manage tasks, helping you streamline your daily operations and enhance productivity within AdviserLogic. Whether you're managing follow-ups, compliance actions, or client reviews, the Tasks Widget ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
Access
To enable the Tasks Widget, navigate to Adviser Home and select Customise Adviser Home.
Select the Task Widget and Save

You will have to close the Add/Remove Widget window to return to your Adviser Home Screen
All enabled widgets on the Adviser Home screen will appear as minimised tiles, providing a compact and organised overview.
You can expand, collapse, or rearrange these widgets to customise your dashboard layout for optimal workflow efficiency.
Tasks Widget – Default Display & Behaviour
By default, the Tasks Widget appears as a minimised tile on the Adviser Home screen, showing only key details for quick reference.
Only five columns will be displayed in the minimised view for a compact overview the following 5 columns will show as default - these can be modified in the Widget settings.

Client Data Display
The Tasks Widget exclusively pulls client data from the client record and does not display information from the Related To field of the task.
No entity data (such as businesses, trusts, or SMSFs) will appear in the widget.
Only the client associated with the task will be displayed.
If a task is linked to an entity rather than an individual client, it will not show in the widget.
📌 Note
To see entity-related tasks, refer to the full task management module instead of relying on the widget.
Expanding the widget to the Maximised View will reveal all available task columns - 7 Columns Total.

Tasks Widget Fields Minimised View
The Tasks Widget in Adviser Home provides a structured view of tasks, allowing you to manage and track client-related actions efficiently. Below are the key fields available within the widget:

Use the Search Bar to refine task lists and quickly find specific tasks, improving workflow efficiency within AdviserLogic. Adjust Widget Settings to personalise your task management view.

Aside from the Task Name and Client Columns, the remaining columns are customisable to the requirements of each practice by utilising the Settings button.

View in Maximized View
The Maximised View of the Tasks Widget provides an expanded layout with all task details visible. It includes the same core fields as the standard view but offers additional display and filtering options under Widget Settings.

View or mark the status of the task as:

💡Tip
Use the Maximised View for a detailed task overview and efficient task filtering, especially when managing overdue or dormant tasks.
Search Bar
The Search Bar in the Tasks Widget allows you to filter both specific columns and all details appearing in the widget.
Enter a keyword or phrase to search across all visible task details (not limited to filter columns).
📌Note
Use the Search Bar to quickly locate tasks without manually scrolling through the list.
Search applies to fields such as Task Name, Client, Assignee, Task Type, and Due Date.
Results update instantly to display relevant matches.
Assignee
The Assignee field in the Tasks Widget displays the individual responsible for completing the task.
Shows who has been assigned to complete the task from a list of advisers in your practice or a Task Pool.
Can be used as a filter to display only tasks assigned to a specific person or a task pool.
Helps in tracking workload distribution and task ownership.
💡Tip
Use the Assignee filter to focus on tasks assigned to specific team members, improving task management and efficiency.
Task Pools can be created by following the Category Creation Instructions
Task Pools in AdviserLogic allow multiple users to access and manage unassigned tasks, ensuring efficient task delegation and workflow management.
Status
The Status field in the Tasks Widget is visually represented using a pie chart and icons, providing a clear overview of task progress.
Status Indicators:
🟡 Pie Chart (In Progress) – Tasks currently being worked on.
⏸️ Pause Icon (Abandoned) – Tasks that have been discontinued or are no longer required.
✅ Completed Tasks Removed – Once a task is marked as completed, it is immediately removed from the widget.
Updating Task Status in the Tasks Widget
You can change the Task Status from the default In Progress to Dormant, Abandoned, or Complete using the status bar. The updated status will be reflected in the Tasks Widget.
Select the status icon for the task and select the status from the drop-down options:
Shown in Widget
🟡 In Progress (Default) – The task is actively being worked on.
⏸️ Dormant – The task is temporarily inactive - can be shown in widget by selecting this option in Settings
Removed from Widget
⛔ Abandoned – The task has been discontinued and will be removed from the widget.
✅ Complete – The task is finished and will be removed from the widget.
Changes made to the status bar update the Tasks Widget instantly, ensuring real-time tracking of task progress.
Stay on top of pending, dormant, abandoned, or completed tasks with up-to-date status changes reflected immediately in both the widget and the client’s record.
📌Note
The task status can be changed freely between In Progress, Dormant, Abandoned, and Complete. However, the Tasks Widget will only display In Progress and Dormant tasks.
Once a task is marked as Complete or Abandoned, it will no longer appear in the widget, as the system will stop receiving data for these statuses.
⚙️Settings
The Widget Settings icon⚙️ is located in the top right corner of the widget and allows you to customise which tasks appear in the widget.
Available Settings
✅ Show Overdue Tasks – Displays overdue tasks by default (can be deselected).
✅ Show Dormant Tasks – Includes dormant tasks in the widget.
✅ Show from Due Date – Filter tasks based on upcoming due dates:
30 Days
60 Days
90 Days

Column Display Options
Select which columns to include in the expanded widget view:
Start Date | Displays when the task was created - Results can be sorted as ascending or descending. |
Due Date | Shows when the task is due - Results can be sorted as ascending or descending. |
Start Date & Due Date | Displays both fields together in a single column. |
Assignee | Filters and displays the individual responsible for completing the task. |
Assigner | Filters and shows who created the task. |
Task Type | Identifies the category of the task, helping in organisation and tracking. |
📌 Note
In minimised mode, only five columns are displayed.
Task Name and Client are mandatory fields and cannot be removed.
The expanded view of the widget includes Task Type as a column.
Task Name
The Task Name field displays the name of the task as entered in the task creation window and serves as its primary identifier.
Task names should be descriptive and provide a clear summary of the required action, making it easier to locate, search, and track tasks within the Tasks Widget.
Tasks with a Waiting On condition will display a coloured dot in front of them.
Hovering over the dot will reveal the specific condition that the task is waiting on.

Task Waiting On Categories specific to your practice can be created using the Category Creation Instructions
Client
The Client field in the Tasks Widget links the task to a specific client record, allowing for easy tracking, searching, and filtering of client-related tasks.
📌Note
The Tasks Widget will only display the client's name and will not show any entities associated with the Related To field.
Due Date
The Due Date field in the Tasks Widget indicates the deadline assigned to the task for completion.
The Due Date in the Widget can be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column header to prioritise upcoming or overdue tasks.
Assigner
The Assigner field in the Tasks Widget displays the adviser who created the task. You can select from a list of staff to filter tasks based on the assigned.
Task Type
The Task Type field in the Tasks Widget displays the assigned task type, categorising tasks based on their purpose to help with organisation and filtering.
Tasks can be sorted alphabetically by clicking on the column header.

Generate Excel Report
To generate an Excel report of your filtered tasks, In the maximised mode, simply select the Excel button. A report containing all fields will automatically download to your local drive.

This report provides a structured spreadsheet view, making it easy to share, review, or archive task information for compliance or reporting.
Task Actions
At the far right of the Tasks Widget, you will find the Three Dots Menu (⋮).
Selecting this will display a drop-down menu with the following options:
Add Note
A small window will open, allowing you to quickly enter notes about the task and record the minutes taken. Any notes and time logged here will be saved directly under the Task in the client's record for easy reference.
The Time field allows you to enter a number representing the minutes spent on the task, helping track time for reporting or compliance purposes.
The Notes window provides basic text editing options, including:
Undo
Redo
Bold
Italic
Underline
Text Colour
Background Colour
Numbering/Bulleting
Allowing you to format notes clearly before saving them to the client's task record.
Select Save to save the note to the client's Task.
Send Email to Assignee
The Send Email to Assignee option allows you to quickly send an email notification directly to the task assignee, ensuring they are informed of updates or reminders related to the task.
A confirmation will show and the assignee will receive the email reminder.
Duplicating the Tasks Widget in Adviser Home
AdviserLogic allows you to duplicate the Tasks Widget in Adviser Home.
Duplicating the widget allows you to:
Filter tasks by different users or Task Pools for clearer task management.
Separate priority tasks from general tasks for easier focus.
Track specific team or project tasks independently.
Customise views based on workflow needs without losing visibility on other tasks.
To duplicate the tasks widget, select the customise Adviser Home button.
Scroll down to the tasks Widget option and select the duplicate button from the right of the window
The new widget will now appear in the window and on your Adviser Home screen. By default, the duplicated widget is named Task Copy, but you can easily rename it for clarity by clicking into the editable field in the second column. Select Save to apply the changes.

Only two Task Widgets can be active at a time.
You can remove the widget from your Adviser Home by deselecting it from the Add Widgets window or by selecting the rubbish bin icon to the right of the widget in the Add Widget window.
Alternatively, you can delete the duplicate widget when it is no longer needed by using the delete icon.
Filtered Task Widget View
You can also create a filtered Task Widget to display tasks Assigned By specific users or by Task Pools.
To create a filtered task Widget, select the customise Adviser Home button.
Select the Add button to open general widget filter options.
From the widget creation window, choose Tasks from the Item drop-down to create a bespoke task widget and apply your filters:

Selecting Preview from the bottom left of the window will display a list of tasks related to the selected filters directly beneath the filter fields. This allows you to review the filtered task results before saving.
Save the Widget to enable it on your Adviser Home.
