Overview

Custom Widgets in AdviserLogic help you manage client data, tasks, and appointments more efficiently—right from your Adviser Home screen.

These widgets are configurable, allowing you to filter, track, and access key information tailored to your workflow. Designed to pull live data from core modules like Fact Find, Diary, and Tasks, Custom Widgets support better client engagement and streamline daily operations.

With Custom Widgets, you can:
✅ View real-time updates from your Diary and Tasks
✅ Create targeted Client Search Groups for efficient follow-up
✅ Monitor Task Pools and assignments
✅ Track appointments by purpose using Labels

Designed to streamline your workflow, these widgets allow you to personalise your view, monitor priority actions, and efficiently manage client and task data — all in one place. This ensures greater productivity and keeps your focus on what matters most.

Access

To access the Custom Widget creation window, navigate to your AdviserLogic Adviser Home > Customise Adviser Home option, located at the top right of the window.

This will open an Add/Remove Items window, where you can customise your Adviser Home page by selecting the widgets you wish to display.

You also have the option to create new Custom Widgets by selecting the Add button located in the bottom left corner of the pop-up window.

📌Note

Existing Custom Widgets are easily identifiable in the list as they display both an Edit option and a 🗑️bin icon for deletion.

Creating a Custom Widget

Selecting Add ➕ will open a screen displaying the available filters for your widget, which will vary depending on the Item you choose.

From the Item field, you can choose to create a widget based on:

Display and manage specific client groups filtered by your saved search criteria.

Tasks

Monitor, manage, and filter tasks assigned to you or your team to stay on top of workflow priorities.

View and manage shared task pools to efficiently track tasks within your team.

Track and filter appointments based on labels for better meeting management and scheduling.

👉 How it Works

Each widget interacts with its respective module—Fact Find, Tasks, or Diary—ensuring real-time updates and accuracy.

This keeps your Adviser Home dashboard organised, efficient, and actionable at all times.

👥Client Search Groups Widget

🔎 Use it to target clients for reviews, marketing campaigns, or compliance checks.

Selecting Client Search Groups from the Item field activates client-specific filter preferences.

This widget allows you to manage and view clients based on preset filters—such as client status, category, or adviser assignment—streamlining how you monitor and access client groups directly from your Adviser Home.

Client Search Groups Widget Fields and Functions

Select Filter Group

Choose from saved client filter groups you’ve created (e.g., Active Clients, Prospects, etc.).

This widget helps you instantly create, view, manage, and action client groups directly from your dashboard—ideal for prioritising prospects or reviewing specific client segments.

The Select Filter Group field will display your newly created group once it has been saved, making it easy to select and manage.

To create a new Client Search Group, use the available filters located below the fields.

You can choose from three filter types to refine your client list:

General Filters

Filter by non-financial client details such as Category, Adviser, Date of Birth, Dependants, or Gender.

💰 Financial Filters

Filter clients based on financial parameters like Net Worth, Income, or Assets.

📝 Custom Filters

Pull data directly from your Custom Fact Find fields, allowing tailored filtering based on your practice-specific requirements.

*Custom Filters are only available if you have created Custom Fact Find Fields

Selecting the Filter Type will display options specific to that category in the following filter field, allowing you to refine your search based on the selected filter/s.

📌 Note

The Date Filters are dynamic and automatically update the widget results based on the set date parameters.

👉 For Example

If you configure the filters for a 1-month period, the widget will continuously add new results each day as they meet the criteria.

Refine and Add Multiple Filters

Combining Filters for Accurate Client Searches

To refine your client search results, you can combine multiple filters from General, Financial, or Custom Filters. This allows you to create highly targeted client groups based on specific criteria.

Select a Filter Type:
Choose the filter category you wish to use — General Filters, Financial Filters, or Custom Filters — from the dropdown menu.

Set Filter Conditions
After selecting the filter type, a field of available conditions relevant to that filter will display. Continue refining until no further fields appear.

👉 For example:

  • General Filters might include age range, adviser, review dates, or marital status.

  • Financial Filters may include net worth, income, or superannuation balance.

  • Custom Filters will show any custom fields created in your Fact Find.

Once the filter selection process has been completed, select the desired condition, enter your values or select from the drop-downs as required, and then tick the checkbox next to the filter to activate it.

📌Note

Not all filters require you to select the checkbox to apply the filter—only those with checkboxes must be selected for the filter to be active.

A list of clients matching the selected conditions will show below the filters, allowing you to review and refine your selection.

👉 Repeat the process to apply multiple filters.

Each additional filter further narrows the search results, allowing you to focus precisely on clients matching all selected criteria.

📌Note

  • The more filters you add, the fewer clients will meet the conditions and populate the list—keep this in mind when creating your group.

  • If clients aren’t appearing in the list, review your filters and double-check the client’s information in Fact Find to ensure they aren’t accidentally excluded.

  • Once applied, all active filters will display. You can remove or adjust filters as needed by unticking checkboxes, editing values, or selecting the red ❌ at the end of the filter row.

💡Tip

Using multiple filters is ideal for creating targeted client groups, such as clients aged 55+, with upcoming reviews, or holding specific insurance policies.

This process helps generate accurate, meaningful client lists for reports, campaigns, or focused advice delivery.

Review and finalise your client group by previewing the client list once all filters are applied, then select Create Widget to Save it as a new group field.

💡 Recommendation

Assign a clear and descriptive name to your Client Group during the final step when prompted—this helps you easily identify it later

Your saved group name will automatically become available in the Select Filter Group

Once you have saved a group an option will become available to Update an existing group when selecting the Create Widget button.

The Widget will now show on your Adviser Home screen.

✅Tasks Widget

Shows client-related tasks assigned to you or your team with live status updates.

📃Quickly view, update, and manage tasks directly from your Adviser Home dashboard.

To create a filtered task Widget, select the customise Adviser Home button.

Select the Add button to open general widget filter options.

From the widget creation window, choose Task from the Item drop-down to create a bespoke task widget and apply your filters:

Item

Choose Tasks from the dropdown options

Task Category

Filter tasks based on the assigned category:

  • Assigned to Me

  • Assigned by Me

Task Type

Filter tasks by type by previously created task categories

Report Name

Ad a report name that reflects the purpose of the Widget

Selecting Preview from the bottom left of the window will display a list of tasks related to the selected filters directly beneath the filter fields. This allows you to review the filtered task results before saving.

Save the Widget to enable it on your Adviser Home.

📌Note

You will have to close the Add/Remove Widget window to return to your Adviser Home Screen

📂Task Pools Widget

Displays tasks assigned to specific adviser pools or users.

📁Ideal for managing workload distribution across the team and monitoring task completion.

🚧Important🚧

You must have previously created Pools Categories created to use this feature.

To create a filtered Task Pools Widget, select the Customise Adviser Home button.

Select the Add button to open general widget filter options.

From the widget creation window, choose Task Pools from the Item drop-down to create a bespoke task widget and select your Previously Created Task Pool Category.

📌Note

For a client to appear in the Task Pools Widget, the Task Pool selected in the widget must match the Assignee field in the client’s task. This ensures only relevant tasks assigned to the assigned pool are displayed accurately.

Select Save to apply the widget to your Adviser Home Dashboard.

Close the widget creation window (Add/Configure Switchboard Items), and you will see the widget listed in the Widget selection window (Add/Remove Items) by the Pool Category name selected during setup. Tick the checkbox in front of it to apply the widget to your Adviser Home screen.

Close the selection window and the widget will now show on your Adviser Home dashboard.

You can edit or delete the widget by returning to the Customise Adviser Home button > Widget Selection Window (Add/Remove Items) screen.

Simply select Edit to modify the widget or select the 🗑️bin icon to delete it.

🗓️Appointment Labels

Pulls appointments from the Diary that have specific labels assigned (e.g., Review Meeting, Strategy Session).

📅 Use this widget to track meetings by purpose, ensuring nothing is missed.

🚧Important🚧

You must have previously created Appointments Categories created to use this feature.

To create a filtered Appointment Label Widget, select the customise Adviser Home button.

Select the Add button to open general widget filter options.

From the widget creation window, select Appointment Labels from the Item drop-down to create a bespoke appointment-based widget. Enter a name for the widget, then Save to display your new widget on your Adviser Home screen.

Close the selection window and the widget will now show on your Adviser Home dashboard.

The Widget will show from your diary as long as the appointment label has been assigned in the diary appointments

Date

Displays the date of the appointment.

Subject

Shows the subject or title of the appointment for easy reference.

Label

Displays the appointment label (e.g., Meeting, Review, Annual Check-in) assigned during scheduling.

All

Option to display all appointments regardless of label or filter applied.

Invitees

Lists the people invited to the appointment, helping track attendees.

💡Tip

Use this widget to track, view, and manage appointments based on assigned labels, ensuring better visibility of your calendar events within AdviserLogic.

The Appointment Labels Widget pulls data directly from the Diary module based on the labels assigned to each appointment.

When you create an appointment in the Diary, you’ll see a Label field. Selecting or assigning a label (e.g., Review Meeting, Annual Check-in, Strategy Session) categorises the appointment by purpose.

👉 How it Works

  • Only appointments with an assigned label will appear in the Appointment Labels Widget.

  • The widget dynamically displays appointments, subjects, labels, dates, and invitees based on your Diary entries.

  • This ensures a clear, real-time snapshot of all labelled meetings and their statuses directly from your AdviserLogic Home screen.

💡Tip

Always assign a label when creating Diary appointments to ensure they appear in the widget for easier tracking and planning.
