Introduction to Zapier and API
API Integration's primary value is to allow data entered in one platform to automatically populate across other platforms, potentially saving hundreds of hours.
AdviserLogic understands how critical this is to the efficient operation of our clients' businesses. To that end, we have teamed up with Zapier to allow the benefits from their massive API network.
Our latest enhancement in this area is the Appointments widget based on Zapier API functionality. Through this, we provide an option to view all your Outlook and Google calendar events from the widget and in the AdviserLogic Diary.
We have also provided the option to Delete, Start/Join events for Outlook and Google Calendar events via Location, and log invitee event responses in the Appointment widget.

💡Note
An active Zapier subscription is required, and Zapier Integration needs to be enabled in AdviserLogic to use this functionality.
Zapier Integration with AdviserLogic
Zapier is a powerful automation tool that connects AdviserLogic with various web applications, streamlining workflows and reducing manual tasks. To simplify the integration process, we offer a selection of pre-built Zapier templates.

To access the Appointment Widget, navigate to Adviser Home and select the Customise Adviser Home button.
Tick the Upcoming Appointments tick box and Save to enable the widget on your Adviser Home screen.
The Synced appointments will show in your Widget
📌Note
The details displayed in the Appointments widget depend on an active and current Zapier subscription. As long as your Zap is active and up to date, data will continue to sync seamlessly between your third-party calendar and AdviserLogic’s widget and Diary.
To help you monitor this, the Appointments widget shows:
The date and time of the last successful sync.
The number of events updated in that sync cycle.
⚠️ Important: Only new events created after a successful Zap setup will sync to AdviserLogic. Events created before the Zap was activated will not be transferred and must be added manually if needed.
The Zapier integration enables you to effortlessly import data from third-party applications into AdviserLogic. For example, Outlook data with matching parameters can be synced to appear in both the widget and the Diary. The imported details include:
This ensures your AdviserLogic Diary stays updated with real-time event information from external applications.
Location
With the enhanced integration capability, you can now see third-party app meeting locations directly within the widget — no more bouncing between apps just to find where your next meeting is!
We’ve made it super easy to view geographic locations for in-person meetings or jump straight into virtual ones, all within AdviserLogic. This means you don’t have to rely on external apps to access meeting details—just open AdviserLogic and you're good to go!
So whether you're heading to a client’s office or hopping on a Zoom call in your PJs (we won’t judge), AdviserLogic keeps everything in one place for you!
Importance
We've also introduced a feature that displays high-priority and low-priority meetings directly within the widget—just like in Outlook.
This allows you to quickly identify and manage your most important appointments at a glance, ensuring you stay organised and focused on what matters most.
📌Note
Meetings marked with no importance or normal importance will appear without an importance tag.
Reoccurrence
Recurring events are a key feature of effective calendaring, helping you manage regular meetings with ease—whether it’s a weekly staff meeting or a division-wide review on the second Tuesday of each month.
Instead of manually adding each occurrence, simply create the event once, and the system will handle the rest.
As part of our latest enhancement, recurring events are now fully supported and can be tracked and viewed directly from the Appointments widget. This ensures that all your scheduled meetings remain visible and easily accessible within AdviserLogic, keeping you organised and on track.
Private Event
In some cases, your calendar may be shared with your functional group, allowing team members to view scheduled events. However, you also have the option to create Private Events, ensuring that the agenda and details remain confidential and visible only to you.
With this integration, Private Event details can be accessed directly within the widget and the Diary in AdviserLogic, providing a seamless way to manage both shared and confidential meetings in one place.
Invitees
Track the response of meeting invitees from the widget.
Cancelled Event
To delete a meeting (either a single occurrence or an entire series) from your calendar, simply select the Bin icon on the far right of the event.
Once cancelled, the event details will still be visible, but the widget will display the cancelled meeting with a strikethrough, making it clear that the event is no longer active. This helps maintain a record of changes while keeping your calendar up to date.
Important Notes on Zapier Integration and Event Management
The details displayed in the Appointments widget rely on an active and current Zapier subscription. As long as your Zap is active and updated, data will continue to sync between your external calendar and AdviserLogic’s widget and Diary.
To help you track data syncs, the Appointments widget displays:
The date and time of the last successful sync.
The number of events updated in that sync cycle.
Only new events created after a successful Zap setup will sync to AdviserLogic. Events created before the Zap was activated will not transfer and must be manually added if needed.
Editing & Deleting Events from AdviserLogic
⚠️ Editing Restrictions:
Events created via an external source (third-party apps) cannot be edited within AdviserLogic.
🗑️ Deleting Events:
You can delete events from the AdviserLogic Diary, but this will not remove them from the original third-party calendar.
Reverse integration (syncing deletions back to the external source) is not currently supported. Any deleted event will only be removed from AdviserLogic, while remaining intact in your external calendar.
