Overview

AdviserLogic supports and displays Praemium's SMAs through datafeeds, allowing for seamless integration and enhanced portfolio management.

  • Group SMA Functionality - Users can group SMAs for Praemium and view them as a single consolidated entry in the Assets screen.

  • Digital Advice Integration - The grouping option also applies to Digital Advice scenarios and the associated advice documents.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How are Praemium’s SMAs different from other platforms?

Praemium uses a blended approach to SMA management. This means:

  • When manager or investor-initiated transactions occur, holdings are adjusted within the client's SMA portfolio first before transactions are made.

  • This results in fewer transactions, potentially leading to lower transaction costs and reduced capital gains tax liabilities.

How does AdviserLogic manage blended SMA balances?

  • When SMA grouping is switched off: The underlying holdings are displayed, showing individual transactions for each investment.

  • When SMA grouping is switched on: The total SMA balance is displayed as a single line item, allowing for a consolidated view.

  • This ensures flexibility in viewing either individual holdings or total SMA balances when generating client advice.

Why can’t I see the underlying investments when Group SMA is disabled in the Assets screen?

  • Underlying investments do not display teal bullet points on the Assets screen.

  • Praemium sends cumulative balances for holdings with the same investment code, meaning separating individual funds within an SMA is not possible.

What types of investments are available under Praemium's Investment menu?

  • Single Asset Models (SAM)- Investments in an individual managed fund, listed security, or ETP, managed by Praemium.

  • Multi Asset Models (MAM) - Investments in multiple Model Portfolios, customizable in any proportion of the investor’s choice.

Group SMA Functionality in Digital Advice

Why is the investment fee missing for a Datafeed SMA?

  • If investment fees and costs are missing for a Datafeed SMA, a pop-up window will allow users to manually enter the SMA's Investment Fees when creating a scenario or using Advice Tools.

  • Users can also edit existing SMA fees by selecting the vertical ellipsis (3 dots) in the upper-right corner of the Fees & Costs window.

Can I reset SMA investment fees to default values?

Yes! Users can reset fees to their default values by selecting the circular arrow icon in the Fees & Costs window.

Why is the investment fee blank for an SMA?

  • Praemium provides a list of 244 SMAs, but not all fees may be available for recommendation in Digital Advice > Settings > SMA Setup.

  • Existing SMAs with a 0% fee should be left blank, and they will appear as 0% in the advice document.

The integration of Praemium's SMAs in AdviserLogic provides greater flexibility and accuracy in portfolio management. Whether grouping SMAs for a consolidated view or managing fees within Digital Advice, these enhancements ensure seamless financial advice generation.
