Overview

While datafeeds in AdviserLogic are a powerful tool for automating and updating investment and insurance data, they have limitations. Certain types of personal and transactional information are not transmitted through datafeeds, as the data provided is strictly controlled by the provider.

This article outlines the types of information that cannot be received through datafeeds and alternative ways to manage missing data.

Types of Information Not Received Through Datafeeds

Personal Client Information

Datafeeds do not transmit or update personal client details, including:

  • Client names

  • Addresses

  • Dates of birth

  • Contact details (phone numbers, emails, etc.)

🚧Important🚧

While some datafeeds may provide enough information to create a basic client record, they cannot be relied on to keep personal details up to date.

Fee & Commission Information

  • Datafeeds do not provide fee or commission details.

  • If fee data is required, it must be obtained directly from the provider or manually entered.

Transactional Data & Corporate Actions

  • Not all providers supply transactional data through their datafeeds.

  • If a provider does not support transactional records, AdviserLogic cannot force them to provide it.

  • Corporate actions (e.g., mergers, stock splits, dividends) are generally not supported via datafeeds.

  • Some corporate actions may be interpreted as an "Add" transaction by the provider, but this is not guaranteed.

Insurance Datafeed Limitations

  • Insurance datafeeds only provide policy-level information.

  • The details available vary by provider and may not include toggle options or additional policy details.

  • Advisers should verify directly with the provider to confirm what information is included in the feed.

Provider-Specific Datafeed Limitations

Each provider has a fixed list of data they choose to send.

  • Datafeeds cannot be customised beyond what the provider allows.

  • To check what specific information is included or missing, refer to the Datafeed FAQ in AdviserLogic or contact the provider directly.

Managing Missing Data

Since some critical data cannot be obtained via datafeeds, consider the following:

  • Manually update personal client details as needed.

  • Obtain missing fee and commission data directly from providers.

  • Verify transactional data by cross-checking portfolio reports from the provider.

  • Confirm insurance policy details with the provider if additional information is required.

Datafeeds streamline data management but have inherent limitations. Understanding what information is not included ensures that advisers can take proactive steps to maintain accurate records. If you need further clarification, contact AdviserLogic Support or consult the Datafeed FAQ for provider-specific details.
