Datafeed Setup Instructions

Open the instructions for each stage of the setup process by clicking the arrow below

Stage 1

Generate Token - Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic

Follow the instructions to activate the Class token via AdviserLogic.

Navigate to Datafeeds, and from the Datafeed Codes screen select Add.

Select Class from the drop-down menu.

To generate a Class Token select the Get Access Token button.

Stage 2

Activate Token in Class

You will navigate to the Class site to log in and activate the credentials. Enter your Class Username and Password.

You will navigate to an AdviserLogic - Class datafeed Authorise page where you can choose to allow AdviserLogic to retrieve data from your Class account.

📌Note

The Class Datafeed setup in AdviserLogic may show as Inactive. It will activate overnight and display as Active only when connected successfully.

The datafeed should be live within 72 hours.

Please check the File Received Last Date column from the datafeed landing page/datafeed codes page.

The last file received date should be within a few days of the current date.

Once the datafeed is established, you may also check this page to troubleshoot common datafeed issues.

💡Tip

It is a good idea to determine the code's expiry date from your provider and set a task for the following year to prevent datafeed interruptions.

If the datafeed credentials have expired and the datafeed has been inactive for some time the result will reflect in incorrect balances within the client's assets.

Stage 3

Map Client Accounts

Go to the Datafeed screen and select the provider from Datafeed Management > Select Platform from the dropdown.

Select the Adviser Code from the dropdown, then search for the individual, and select the Map option.

Select the Map button.

Select:

  • Create New - if the client is not added to Adviserlogic and you want to map the account code with the client without creating the client.

  • Existing - to map the datafeed to an existing client.

  • Joint - to map the account code with the joint entity.

📌Note

  • Avoid mapping to the superannuation entity as this is created by AdviserLogic once the account is mapped.

  • Always map to the Client’s name, SMSF or Trust If Super Is the Policy Owner.

  • When a super fund owns an insurance policy, it should be linked to the corresponding super fund account rather than the client or partner. Please ensure that the relevant super fund account is already present in the respective client's superannuation section.

Once the account is mapped search for the client again and select the refresh button. This will force the data through immediately, rather than waiting the requisite 24 hours.

Investment Datafeeds are only available to users holding an Investment Adviser License or Comprehensive Adviser License. Contact your CSM for more information on License Types .

General Information

What information does this feed provide?

Investment details, but Unit Balance only.

This Datafeed updates daily.

What information is not available?

Transactional data, any Owner/Superfund data except the Name and Account Code

What conflicts might it cause?

The Class system accepts data feeds from various sources, including those that also send direct data feeds to AdviserLogic. This can cause conflicts.

The most common provider for this is Macquarie CMA.

The Macquarie Datafeed is capable of providing both Balance and Transaction information, which can be used to generate more advanced reports. On the other hand, the Class feed only provides balance information. However, the Class feed may be providing more than just Macquarie data.

The easiest solution is to avoid mapping the Macquarie account in AdviserLogic and instead use the reporting options in Class.

⚠️Important⚠️

This conflict applies to any Datafeed option that Class and AdviserLogic share, and the same solution applies to each.

The Class Datafeed sends through any item that has been entered as an Asset in Class. It cannot qualify or filter this at all. It is your responsibility to ensure the data on the Class side is correct.
