Datafeed Setup Instructions

Open the instructions for each stage of the setup process by clicking the arrow below.

Stage 1

Generate New ESI Details

Generating New ESI Details in Adviser Online

The Primary Adviser needs to generate an ESI Code via Adviser Online. Follow these steps:

Access Adviser Online

Navigate to the Macquarie website. Select Log in, then choose Advisers, followed by Adviser Online. Enter your login credentials to access the Adviser Portal.

Generate New ESI Code

Within Adviser Online, select the profile icon located on the top-right menu. Select ESI details, then Generate new code, followed by Send. Enter the secure code received via SMS, then select Submit.

Record ESI Authentication Details:

The generated ESI Authentication details will appear on-screen.

Copy or note these details carefully, as you'll need to enter them into Stage 2 – Setup Details in AdviserLogic.

⚠️Important Notes⚠️

  • ESI credentials generated from Macquarie Adviser Online apply to both Cash and Wrap accounts. However, these details must be entered separately within AdviserLogic’s Provider Settings—one record for Macquarie Cash and one for Macquarie Wrap.

  • ESI Authentication details expire annually. You must regenerate these credentials each year from Macquarie Adviser Online and update them in AdviserLogic accordingly.

Stage 2

Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic

Once you have the current datafeed credentials, you will need to follow the setup Datafeed instructions for AdviserLogic.

Go to Datafeeds, and select Datafeed Codes from the left menu panel. Select Add.

Select Macquarie from the drop-down menu.

Add the credentials established by Macquarie in Stage 1, ensuring the Active box at the end of the row is ticked, and Save.

💡Tip

  • Authentication Code: This is your ESI Authentication Code required for secure access.

  • Authentication Password: Use your designated password for authentication.

Ensure these details are entered correctly to complete the datafeed setup securely.

The datafeed should be live within 72 hours.

Please check the File Received Last Date column from the datafeed landing page/datafeed codes page.

The last file received date should be within a few days of the current date.

Once the datafeed is established, you may also check this page to troubleshoot common datafeed issues.

💡Tip

It is a good idea to determine the code's expiry date from your provider and set a task for the following year to prevent datafeed interruptions.

If the datafeed credentials have expired and the datafeed has been inactive for some time the result will reflect in incorrect balances within the client's assets.

Stage 3

Map Client Accounts

Once the datafeed is live you need to Map the client's accounts from the Datafeed to AdviserLogic.

Navigate to the Datafeed screen and select the provider from Datafeed Management > Select Platform from the dropdown.

Select the Adviser Code from the dropdown. option.

Search for the individual, and select the Map options.

Select the Map button. Choose From:

Create New - If the client is not added to Adviserlogic and you want to map the account code with the client without creating the client in the Fact Find.

Existing - To map the datafeed to an existing client. Recommended

Joint - To map the account code with the joint entity.

Once the account is mapped search for the client again and select the refresh button. This will force the data through immediately, rather than waiting the requisite 24 hours.

📌Note

Avoid mapping to the superannuation entity, as AdviserLogic creates this after the account is mapped.

Always map to the Client’s Name, SMSF, or Trust.

If Super Is the Policy Owner

When a super fund owns an insurance policy, it should be linked to the corresponding super fund account rather than the client or partner.

Please ensure that the relevant super fund account is already present in the client's superannuation section.

Investment Datafeeds are only available to users holding an Investment Adviser License or Comprehensive Adviser License.

Contact your CSM for more information on License Types.

General Information

What information does this feed provide?

Investment Details: Unit Balance and Transactional Data, including purchases, redemptions and distributions.

Superannuation Details: including Product, Start Date, and Account Number.

This Datafeed updates daily.

What information is not available?

Insurance Policy Information

What conflicts might it cause?

Macquarie is the most common contributor to conflicts experienced by users utilising the Class Datafeed. Macquarie provides a Datafeed to Class and AdviserLogic. If both are active, it can result in data duplication.

The simplest solution is to avoid mapping the Macquarie account in AdviserLogic and use the reporting options in Class instead of those in AdviserLogic. See the Class Datafeed section for more information.

Troubleshooting

Please read the Datafeed issues FAQ to help you resolve common datafeed issues.
