Next Steps

  • Once the datafeed is successfully established, SuperConcepts will send a confirmation email.

  • This email will include a datafeed code—ensure you note it down, as it will be required for Stage 2.

Stage 2 Set up Datafeed in AdviserLogic

AdviserLogic Datafeed Setup

Once you have the current datafeed credentials, you will need to follow the setup Datafeed instructions for AdviserLogic.

Go to Datafeeds, and select Datafeed Codes from the left menu panel. Select Add.

Select SuperConcepts from the drop-down menu.

The necessary fields will show in a new window, enter the Adviser Code that can be found in the confirmation email from SuperConcepts.

The datafeed should be live within 72 hours.

Please check the File Received Last Date column from the datafeed landing page/datafeed codes page.

The last file received date should be within a few days of the current date.

Once the datafeed is established, you may also check this page to troubleshoot common datafeed issues.

💡Tip

It is a good idea to determine the code's expiry date from your provider and set a task for the following year to prevent datafeed interruptions.

If the datafeed credentials have expired and the datafeed has been inactive for some time the result will reflect in incorrect balances within the client's assets.

Stage 3 Map Client Accounts

Map Client Accounts

Once the datafeed is live you need to Map the client's accounts from the Datafeed to AdviserLogic.

Navigate to the Datafeed screen and select the provider from Datafeed Management > Select Platform from the dropdown.

Select the Adviser Code from the dropdown. option.

Search for the individual, and select the Map options.

Select the Map button. Choose From:

Create New - If the client is not added to Adviserlogic and you want to map the account code with the client without creating the client in the Fact Find.

Existing - To map the datafeed to an existing client. Recommended

Joint - To map the account code with the joint entity.

Once the account is mapped search for the client again and select the refresh button. This will force the data through immediately, rather than waiting the requisite 24 hours.

📌Note

Avoid mapping to the superannuation entity, as AdviserLogic creates this after the account is mapped.

Always map to the Client’s Name, SMSF, or Trust.

If Super Is the Policy Owner.

When a super fund owns an insurance policy, it should be linked to the corresponding super fund account rather than the client or partner.

Please ensure that the relevant super fund account is already present in the client's superannuation section.

Stage 4: Managing Adviser Code Changes

Managing SuperConcepts data feeds in Morningstar AdviserLogic is essential to ensure the reliability of your data, especially when adviser codes change. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for updating adviser codes, understanding automatic refresh expectations, and troubleshooting potential issues.

Updating Adviser Codes

When an adviser code changes, it is important to update the code in your Datafeeds settings to maintain the functionality of the SuperConcepts data feed. Follow these steps based on your specific scenario:

  1. If the old adviser code is replaced (no longer valid):

    • Remove the existing adviser code from the Datafeeds settings.

    • Enter the new adviser code in its place.

  2. If the new adviser code is an additional code (both codes remain valid):

    • Retain the existing adviser code in the Datafeeds settings.

    • Add the new adviser code as a second entry.

No additional configuration changes are required after updating the adviser code.

Investment Datafeeds are only available to users holding an Investment Adviser License or Comprehensive Adviser License.

Contact your CSM for more information on License Types.

What conflicts might it cause?

Conflicts can arise when SuperConcepts and AdviserLogic receive datafeeds from the same source.

This is most frequently an issue when Asgard and Macquarie accounts are present.

Have there been any name changes or Provider Mergers? If yes what data is being received for the merged provider?
