Overview

Auditor access licences allow users to view audit-related areas of AdviserLogic without full adviser permissions. This helps your firm separate audit responsibilities while keeping data secure and controlled. By granting the correct licence, you maintain clear access boundaries and support compliance workflows.

Access

Practice Champions can submit a request through the Help Centre to have an Auditor access login created.

Select Add New User from Create a ticket

Enter the required details, then choose the Auditor licence and User access options from the drop-down list.

Once you have entered all details, select the Create Ticket button to submit the request.

As an auditor, access will be restricted to:

  • A designated 2-week timeframe, allowing sufficient time to conduct the audit (an extension can be requested if required).

  • Read-only access to align with the compliance standards set by ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commission). This ensures that auditors have access to review the necessary modules while adhering to regulatory requirements.

The modules accessible to auditors include:

Fact Finder (including custom fact finds)

An auditor can see all the details from the Fact Find, but cannot change any information within the module.

File Notes

In the file notes section, an auditor can access all the file notes created for the clients in read-only mode by either previewing or downloading them, however, no change can be made in the application data.

Document Vault

Auditors can preview and download files from the document vault, however, they can not delete or update any document.

Compliance (Service Fee Disclosure)

An auditor can access the module and can see the key date, services received by the client, as well as status, but cannot change any data in the module.

Auditor Registration Process

After the login is created, an automated email will be sent to the nominated address, prompting the auditor to complete their registration.

Selecting the Register button in the email will navigate the auditor to the password setup screen where following the prompts will allow them to create a unique login password.

Once the password is set, navigate to the login window by selecting Sign in to AdviserLogic.

Enter the Email and new Password to log in, and then accept the Terms and Conditions set forth by Morningstar AdviserLogic.

By proceeding with the login, you agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions set forth by Morningstar AdviserLogic. These terms ensure a secure and transparent user experience while safeguarding the confidentiality of your data and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Once the terms and conditions are accepted, the auditor will navigate directly into AdviserLogic.

Clients can be located using the in-depth client search in the top left menu, which allows for finding hidden or deactivated clients and displays results in a list view. A quick search option is also available in the top right menu, showing only active clients in a drop-down once you begin typing the client’s name.

An auditor can select a client either way and then proceed to audit the requisite sections provided.

📌 Note

  • Only the Practice Champion can submit a ticket to request the creation of an Auditor login and can track the progress of the request through the Help Centre.

  • If other staff members need to submit a request or follow up on its status, they can do so by emailing [email protected] and copying in the Practice Champion.

FAQ

Is a unique email required for auditor login, assuming auditors will need multiple access for different users?

Yes, a unique email ID is needed, and a single access can be used to audit different users. Since the Practice Admin can set the Auditor access for advisers and their clients.

If a unique email address is required for Auditors, what if I am from an AFSL or require auditor access for multiple practices?

The Auditor access works like any other license in Adviserlogic. If there are 2 practices involved and their AFSL and auditor are the same, 2 auditor licenses would be required within the respective practices, and those accounts should each have a distinct email address.

Can the Auditor view custom Fact-Find fields?

Yes, the auditor will be able to see the custom Fact Find, however, these will be in read-only mode, meaning, the auditor will not alter them.

Could an auditor have access to view digital advice scenarios?

This functionality is not currently available, it will be made available in future enhancements.

When and how can a practice request Auditor Access?

The ASIC compliance regulation demands that practices/companies have their data audited. The Auditor license works like any other license that we have in Adviserlogic (with some exceptions).

Speak to your CSM about having an auditor licence created or request access via the menu in your messenger if you are a practice Champion/ Principal. If you are not a practice Champion or principal, you will need to ask them to raise the request.

When and why Auditor access is required (For Practice Admins)

Usually, ASIC has mandated Auditors to audit 4 module:

  • Filenotes

  • Document Vault

  • Compliance

  • Fact Finder
