Overview
When enabling datafeeds in AdviserLogic, it is essential to take caution if investment or superannuation data already exists in the client's profile. Switching on a datafeed without proper checks may overwrite manually entered values, leading to data loss or duplicate entries.
Manually entered data will not be automatically replaced by the datafeed; instead, it will create duplicate assets, causing discrepancies in reporting.
Follow the best practices below to ensure a smooth transition when enabling datafeeds for a client who already has existing investment or superannuation data.
Assess Existing Client Data
Before switching on a datafeed, review the client’s profile to check if:
Manually entered investments or superfunds are present.
Platform-linked assets have already been recorded.
Any historical data needs to be retained before integration.
🚧Important🚧
Manually entered values will be duplicated rather than replaced by the mapped datafeed, leading to reporting inconsistencies.
Consult with Support or Onboarding Team
Do not activate the datafeed without first confirming the impact on existing client data.
Contact AdviserLogic Support or consult with your Onboarding Consultant for guidance on the best approach.
They can assist in verifying whether the datafeed should be enabled or if adjustments need to be made first.
Remove Manually Entered Data (If Required)
If support confirms that the datafeed should be activated:
Manually review all existing investments and superfunds.
Delete any manually entered assets that will be replaced by the datafeed to prevent duplication.
Proceed with enabling the datafeed once all necessary adjustments have been made.
Enable the Datafeed (If Approved)
If advised by the support team to proceed:
Follow the Datafeed Setup Instructions to complete the integration.
Verify that all investment or superannuation data is correctly mapped.
After enabling the datafeed, review client holdings to ensure no critical information has been lost or duplicated.
Compare pre-existing data with the new datafeed values to verify consistency.
📌Note
If duplicate entries appear, manually remove the outdated records or contact AdviserLogic Support for assistance in reconciling the data.
💡Tip
Always check existing investment or superannuation data before activating a datafeed.
If manually entered data exists, it must be removed to avoid duplicates.
Consult with support or an onboarding consultant to avoid potential data conflicts.
Once activated, ensure all assets are correctly mapped to prevent missing or duplicate data.
By following these best practices, you can enable datafeeds seamlessly and without risk to your client’s existing financial data.
