Overview

The Digital Advice Refresh feature in AdviserLogic allows you to update client data and recalculate projections within the Digital Advice module. This ensures that any changes made to client information, financial details, or assumptions are accurately reflected in the advice outputs. Keeping Digital Advice refreshed helps maintain accuracy, compliance, and relevance when presenting strategies to clients.

⚠️Important

Support logins have read-only access to scenarios. Only Paraplanners and Advisers can create or edit scenarios.

Digital Advice - Scenario Refresh functionality

Under Digital Advice > Scenarios - you can refresh an existing scenario to update Fact Find data (assets, liabilities, income, expenses etc.) in your advice document.

The Scenario Refresh button is located on the lower right side of the scenario tile and on the More menu of each scenario card.

📌Note

Data will be updated for the selected scenario only and this action cannot be undone.

Once the Scenario Refresh button is selected, there are three possible outcomes.

  • No Fact Find changes:

If the Fact Find data has not changed since the scenario was created, the following message will appear Scenario data has the latest fact find values, there is nothing to refresh.

  • Fact Find data has changed, but has no impact on the Scenario strategies

While Fact Find data may have changed since the scenario was created, it may not affect the investment values recommended in the scenario. An example of this may be if a client’s salary is updated and the strategy relates to superannuation investment.

In this instance the updated data will be refreshed in the advice document. It is important to note that any manual editing in Preview mode of the document will also be Reset and this action cannot be undone.

Warnings are added to ensure you do not make changes inadvertently. Selecting Cancel at any point of the process ensures that NO changes are made, and the scenario remains in its original state.

  • Fact Find data is changed and has an impact on the Scenario strategies

If the updated Fact Find data impacts the strategies in the scenario, for instance the balance of a consolidated super fund changes, you will see highlighted strategies that are impacted by the update. It is important to address the highlighted areas to complete the scenario.

To reiterate - It is important to note the warnings that any manual editing in Preview mode of the document will be reset and this action cannot be undone. In this instance, the impacted strategies will be identified to gauge the impact of the update before proceeding. If you are unsure of this impact, we recommend you copy the scenario prior to applying the refresh to ensure you retain your original work.

Copy Scenario

To create exact duplicate of your created scenario, you can select to Copy an existing Digital Advice scenario.

The Copy button is located on each Scenario card. It can be accessed by hovering over the blue or green strip along the top of the tile.

Selecting Copy will open a window prompt to enter the cloned scenario’s name.

Graphical user interface, text, application, email Description automatically generated

You can select to choose the Fact Find data

  • Existing Fact Find data – This will create an exact clone of your existing scenario, matching the Fact Find data to the original. Any linked Cashflow scenario will also be copied to the clone scenario.

  • Latest Fact Find data - This will clone your existing scenario while also updating any Fact Find data that has since changed – effectively, this combines the Copy Scenario function with the Scenario Refresh function. Accordingly, any editing in the preview of the original scenario will be removed in the copied scenario.

Change Template

We have also added the flexibility to change the template attached to the existing scenario, which may be helpful to convert a paraplanning request into an SOA (Statement of Advice), or to leverage content that has been updated in a template since the scenario commenced.

To change the template, select the pencil icon next to the attached template name, this can be located beneath the scenario name on the card.

Then select the Folder and Template to link to your current scenario.

To update the current template to a latest version of the same template select the Refresh Now link. Any editing in the original template will be lost if you update or refresh the template, so we recommend you copy the scenario first to save a backup if you are not sure.
