Overview

Merging a Business Client into a new entity can be a strategic move or a tidy-up of multiple records. This process can be simplified by following the Business Client Merger instructions below.

πŸ’‘Tip

To proceed with the Business Client Merger, access to the Administrative Tool is required

Access

To merge a Business Entity into another, go to Tools > Administrative Tools > Advanced Records Management > Business Client Merger.

Merge Record

Find the business entity record to be merged into, by searching the name in the Primary Client field and selecting it from the drop-down.

Then search and select the Business Entity, the business being merged, from the Secondary Client drop-down.

Once you have selected the Business to be merged and the destination business, you can choose from the tick boxes below, which records will be part of the merger.

πŸ“ŒNote

You can also choose to hide the merged Business by selecting this tickbox this will mark the business entity as hidden status. This is recommended - A hidden client won't show in searches but is searchable via the client search - No records are deleted in AdviserLogic.

Once all the options have been chosen, select the merge button from the bottom right of the window.

A confirmation prompt will show, warning you that the action is not reversible. Select Yes To Continue.

Once the merge is complete, a confirmation will show, and the Primary Client will hold all the previously selected records. The Secondary Client will be marked as hidden, if that option is chosen.
