🛠️ Datafeed Setup Instructions

Open the instructions for each stage of the setup process by clicking the arrow below.

⚠️Important

Existing datafeeds set up via the Portfolio Export only include the manually selected portfolios that have been added to the export job. New client portfolios will not automatically be included and will need to be manually added each time.

To reduce the risk of missing clients, it is best practice to use the Adviser Export option when arranging the datafeed with Praemium. Adviser Export exports portfolio data for all portfolios belonging to the selected adviser codes, including new portfolios added later.

If your feed is already set up using Portfolio Export, you will need to manually add any missing client or portfolios to the export setup before requesting the inception export.

Existing Users Request a New Inception File for the Praemuim Upgrade

Request New Inception File

As part of our ongoing datafeed modernisation program, we have enhanced the way Praemium datafeeds are received by AdviserLogic.

Existing Praemium datafeed users need to request a new inception file from the Praemium portal so their feed can continue to support full refresh functionality under the upgraded datafeed architecture.

⚠️Important

This action must be completed by 19 June to help prevent disruption to your Praemium datafeed service.

This section applies if you already have a Praemium datafeed set up with AdviserLogic and need to update the existing export to AdviserLogic (4.3) before requesting the updated inception file.

📌Note

Do not create a new export if an existing AdviserLogic export is already listed. Update the existing export instead, then request Export Inception from the updated export row.

Update the existing Adviser Export

Log in to Praemium and navigate to Reporting & Admin > Data Exchange > Integration Centre, then select the ADVISER EXPORT tab. In the Adviser export list, locate the existing AdviserLogic export(s) for your practice and select Edit.

Check that the existing AdviserLogic Datafeed says 4.3 in the recipient column and select Export Inception.

That’s all that is required to update to the improved system!

If the recipient list shows a previous version of the datafeed, follow the instructions below:

Select Edit on the pre-existing datafeed export.

On the edit export screen, review the export details and update the Recipient field to AdviserLogic (4.3).

Confirm that Cash, Income and Investment are selected under Data to send. These options allow Praemium to send the required portfolio data to AdviserLogic.

Field

What to check or update

Purpose

Export Name

Keep the existing export name or update it so it is easy to identify.

This helps you identify the correct export when requesting the updated inception file.

Recipient

Change this to AdviserLogic (4.3).

This is required for the upgraded AdviserLogic datafeed.

Data to send

Confirm Cash, Income and Investment are selected.

These options ensure the relevant data is included in the export.

Adviser code

Confirm the correct adviser codes are selected.

The inception file will include data linked to these adviser codes.

Service

Confirm the service relates to the AdviserLogic datafeed setup.

This helps confirm you are updating the correct export.

Check that the relevant adviser codes for your practice are selected, add any that may be missing.

Once the recipient and adviser code details are correct, save the changes to the export by selecting Create. Praemium should return you to the Adviser export list.

Request the updated inception file

From the Adviser export list, locate the export you updated. Before requesting the inception file, check that the Recipient now shows AdviserLogic (4.3).

Select Export Inception on the updated AdviserLogic export row. Praemium should display a success message confirming that the export has been queued.

Column or button

What to check

Purpose

Name

Confirm this is the existing AdviserLogic export you updated.

This helps avoid requesting inception for the wrong export.

Recipient

Confirm this shows AdviserLogic (4.3).

This confirms the export has been updated for the upgraded feed.

Adviser Code

Confirm the correct adviser code or adviser name is shown.

The inception file will be generated for this adviser export setup.

Export Inception

Select this on the updated export row.

This queues the updated inception file for AdviserLogic.

After the inception export has been queued, no further action is required. The updated inception file will allow the upgraded Praemium datafeed to continue supporting full refresh functionality.

📌Note

If your existing datafeed was set up under Portfolio Export, contact Praemium Support before making changes. Portfolio Export only includes selected portfolios, so Praemium may need to review the setup and confirm whether it should be updated to Adviser Export for the upgraded AdviserLogic datafeed.

Stage 1 Praemium Authorisation

Authorise Datafeed with Praemium

Before you add the Praemium datafeed credentials in AdviserLogic, the export must be authorised in Praemium’s portal. Your practice must have an agreement in place with Praemium, and the relevant adviser codes must be authorised to export data to AdviserLogic.

The export may fail if the adviser does not have the correct authority set up. You may also need to contact Praemium Client Services to confirm that your service has been switched on for export.

📌Note

The Adviser Code used for the datafeed is different from the ID you use to log in to Praemium.

Access

Log in to Praemium’s portal, select Reporting & Admin.

You will need to re-enter your password to access the next screen.

Navigate to the Data Exchange > Integration Centre. This is where you can manage the export setup for AdviserLogic datafeeds.

Praemium export setup options

Praemium provides two ways to set up data exports. For AdviserLogic datafeeds, Adviser Export is suited to setups where all portfolios linked to selected adviser codes need to be included, helping reduce the need to manually add new clients later.

Adviser Export

Portfolio Export

What it does

Exports portfolio data for all portfolios linked to the selected advisers. New portfolios for those advisers are included in the export.

Exports data only for selected portfolios. This can be set up as an ad hoc or recurring export job.

Benefits

Reduces manual maintenance. Helps prevent missing clients. Better suited to ongoing AdviserLogic datafeeds.

Useful when only specific portfolios need to be exported. Gives more control over the selected portfolios.

Considerations

Requires the correct adviser codes and export authority to be set up with Praemium.

New portfolios are not automatically included. Each missing client or portfolio must be added manually, which can result in missing clients in AdviserLogic.

AdviserLogic setup guidance

Suitable for ongoing AdviserLogic datafeeds and inception export requests where all portfolios linked to selected advisers need to be included.

Suitable where only selected portfolios need to be exported. Additional manual maintenance may be required to keep AdviserLogic data complete.

Requesting Inception using Adviser Export

To request inception data from Praemium, first create an Adviser Export for the relevant adviser codes. Once the export has been created, return to the Adviser export list and select Export Inception. This queues the historical portfolio data required for the initial AdviserLogic datafeed setup.

⚠️Important

The export Recipient must be AdviserLogic (4.3). If a different recipient is selected, the data may not be sent to AdviserLogic.

Create the Adviser Export

Log in to Praemium and go to Reporting & Admin > Data Exchange > Integration Centre, then select the ADVISER EXPORT tab. From the Adviser export list, select Add new to create a new export for one or more adviser codes.

On the new export screen, enter a clear Export Name so the export can be easily identified later.

Open the Recipient dropdown and select AdviserLogic (4.3). Under Data to send, confirm that Cash, Income and Investment are selected.

Field

What to enter or select

Notes

Export Name

Enter a clear name for the export, such as AdviserLogic Datafeed.

This name will appear in the Adviser export list.

Recipient

Select AdviserLogic (4.3).

This must be selected for AdviserLogic datafeeds.

Data to send

Select Cash, Income and Investment.

These options allow Praemium to send the relevant portfolio data to AdviserLogic.

Frequency

Review the frequency shown after the export is created.

For inception requests, the export is queued using Export Inception from the Adviser export list.

Next, add the adviser codes for your practice to the export. Use the field under Adviser code to enter each adviser code, then tick Selected for each adviser code that should be included in the AdviserLogic datafeed. Before creating the export, check the Adviser name, Adviser id and Service to confirm you are selecting the correct adviser records.

Column

How to use it

What to check

Selected

Tick this box for each adviser code to include in the export.

Only selected adviser codes will be included.

Adviser code

Use this field to search for the adviser code.

Confirm the code matches the adviser code registered for the AdviserLogic datafeed.

Adviser name

Review the adviser name linked to the code.

Check that the correct adviser or practice record is selected.

Adviser id

Review the Praemium adviser ID.

Use this to confirm the adviser where multiple similar records exist.

Service

Review the service linked to the adviser.

This should relate to the AdviserLogic datafeed setup.

Location and Team

Review these fields if your practice uses locations or teams in Praemium.

Confirm the adviser belongs to the correct practice area.

💡Tip

If the relevant adviser code does not appear in the ADVISER EXPORT tab, confirm with Praemium that the adviser code has been registered for AdviserLogic. Avoid setting up the feed under Portfolio Export as a workaround unless Praemium has specifically advised this, as Portfolio Export may require missing clients or new portfolios to be added manually later.

When the correct adviser codes have been selected, select Create from the bottom right of the export window.

Praemium will create the Adviser Export and return you to the Adviser export list, where you will see a confirmation prompt, along with your new export.

Select the export and request inception

On the Adviser export list, locate the export you created. Before requesting inception data, confirm that the Recipient is AdviserLogic (4.3) and that the correct adviser code or adviser name is shown. Select Export Inception on the correct row.

Column or button

What to check

Why it matters

Name

Confirm this is the export you created for AdviserLogic.

This helps avoid requesting inception for the wrong export.

Recipient

Confirm this shows AdviserLogic (4.3).

This ensures the data is sent to AdviserLogic.

Adviser Code

Confirm the correct adviser code or adviser name is listed.

The inception export will apply to this adviser export setup.

Frequency

Confirm the export is set up as expected, commonly Adhoc for inception.

This helps confirm the export is ready to be queued.

Export Inception

Select this button for the correct AdviserLogic export row.

This queues historical data for the initial datafeed setup.

Praemium should display a success message confirming that the export has been queued. Once the inception export has been queued, wait 72 hours before proceeding to Stage 2 and set up the Praemium datafeed in AdviserLogic using the credentials provided.

Requesting Inception using Portfolio Export

If your Praemium datafeed has been set up using Portfolio Export, contact Praemium Support before requesting inception data or making changes to the export. Portfolio Export only sends data for selected portfolios, which means new or missing portfolios may not be included automatically.

Praemium Support can review the existing export, confirm which portfolios are included and advise whether the feed should be updated to use Adviser Export instead. Adviser Export is the preferred setup for AdviserLogic datafeeds because it includes all portfolios linked to the selected adviser codes, including new portfolios added later.

⚠️Important

Do not use Portfolio Export as a workaround if the adviser code does not appear under Adviser Export. Contact Praemium Support so they can confirm the correct setup for AdviserLogic.

Proceed to Stage 2 once the Praemium steps have been completed and 75 hours have passed to allow the datafeed to commence.

Stage 2 Set up Datafeed in AdviserLogic

AdviserLogic Datafeed Setup

When you have the current datafeed credentials, follow the Setup Datafeed Instructions for AdviserLogic.

Go to Datafeeds, and select Datafeed Codes from the left menu panel. Select Add.

Select Praemium from the drop-down menu.

Enter the Praemium Credentials from the previous stage.

💡Tip

The code must consist of five to six digits only and should be numeric.

The datafeed should be live within 72 hours. Please check the File Received Last Date column from the datafeed landing page/datafeed codes page.
The last file received date should be within a few days of the current date.

Once the datafeed is established, you may also check this page to troubleshoot common datafeed issues.

💡Tip

It is a good idea to determine the code's expiry date from your provider and set a task for the following year to prevent datafeed interruptions.

If the datafeed credentials have expired and the datafeed has been inactive for some time the result will reflect in incorrect balances within the client's assets.

⚠️Important⚠️

Once the datafeeds are established, new clients created from new business submissions are not automatically linked to the datafeed. You will need to manually add each new client to the data feed list within AdviserLogic. This step is essential for ensuring that all relevant client data is synced with the feed for seamless financial data integration.

To make this process easier, you have the option to include a specific instruction to Praemium when submitting a new business application. By doing so, Praemium can handle the data feed connection during setup, simplifying the onboarding workflow and ensuring all client information flows into the feed as needed.

If the datafeed credentials have expired and the datafeed has been inactive for some time the result will reflect in incorrect balances within the client's assets

Stage 3 Map Client Accounts

Map Client Accounts

Once the datafeed is live you need to Map the client's accounts from the Datafeed to AdviserLogic.

Navigate to the Datafeed screen and select the provider from Datafeed Management > Select Platform from the dropdown.

Select the Adviser Code from the dropdown. option.

Search for the individual, and select the Map options.

Select the Map button. Choose From:

Create New - If the client is not added to Adviserlogic and you want to map the account code with the client without creating the client in the Fact Find.

Existing - To map the datafeed to an existing client. Recommended

Joint - To map the account code with the joint entity.

Once the account is mapped search for the client again and select the refresh button. This will force the data through immediately, rather than waiting the requisite 24 hours.

📌Note

Avoid mapping to the superannuation entity, as this is created by AdviserLogic after the account is mapped.

Always map to the Client’s Name, SMSF, or Trust.

If Super Is the Policy Owner.

When a super fund owns an insurance policy, it should be linked to the corresponding super fund account rather than the client or partner.

Please ensure that the relevant super fund account is already present in the client's superannuation section.

Investment Datafeeds are only available to users holding an Investment Adviser License or Comprehensive Adviser License.

Troubleshooting

Missing clients or portfolios in the Praemium datafeed

If a client or portfolio is missing from the Praemium datafeed in AdviserLogic, check whether the feed was set up in Praemium using Portfolio Export or Adviser Export.

If the feed was set up using Portfolio Export, only the selected portfolios are included in the export. You will need to manually add each missing client or portfolio to the relevant Praemium export setup, then request Export Inception again for those portfolios.

After Praemium has queued the inception export, return to AdviserLogic and check whether the datafeed file has been received. Once the client or portfolio appears in the datafeed, complete the account mapping from Datafeed Management.

To reduce the chance of this happening for future clients, request that Praemium sets up the AdviserLogic datafeed using Adviser Export. This setup includes all portfolios for the selected adviser codes, including new portfolios added later.

If the client is still missing after the inception export has been queued, confirm with Praemium that the adviser code is registered for AdviserLogic, the recipient is AdviserLogic (4.3), and the file has been received in AdviserLogic.

Please read the Datafeed issues FAQ to help you resolve common datafeed issues.
