Datafeed Setup Instructions
Open the instructions for each stage of the setup process by clicking the arrow below.
Stage 1
Deregister/Register the Datafeed
Deregister/Register the Datafeed
⚠️Important⚠️
If you previously had a CFS Datafeed linked to another CRM provider, you must deregister it before setting up the new integration with AdviserLogic.
Check If a Previous Datafeed Exists
If you have not previously connected a CFS FirstNet or CFS FirstChoice Datafeed to another CRM, you can skip this step and proceed to
Deregister the Old Datafeed
Go to the CFS FirstNet Login page.
Navigate to the Datafeed Settings section. Locate the De-Register button for your existing datafeed. Select De-Register.
A confirmation message will appear, and the previous datafeed will be instantly removed.
*Once deregistration is complete, you can immediately proceed with Registering the Datafeed for AdviserLogic on the same page.
Register the Datafeed
Log in to the CFS FirstNet website and navigate to the Data Feed Settings section.
Select AdviserLogic as the Data Share Platform
Under EPI Data Share Platform, locate and select AdviserLogic from the list.
Tick the Consent box to authorise the datafeed connection.
Select the "Register" button to proceed.
Save Registration Credentials
Once registered, the Registration Username and Password will be automatically populated in the respective fields.
Save these credentials securely, as they will be required in Stage 2 when entering the details into AdviserLogic.
Resetting the Datafeed Password (If Needed)
If you need to update the datafeed password, select the "Reset Password" option.
A new password will be generated, which must be used for AdviserLogic integration.
Stage 2
Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic
Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic
Once you have the current datafeed credentials, you will need to follow the setup Datafeed instructions for AdviserLogic.
Go to Datafeeds, and select Datafeed Codes from the left menu panel. Select Add.
Select CFS Firstchoice from the drop-down menu. Then enter the stored credentials in the required fields and Save.
The necessary fields will show in a new window, enter your Adviser ID as a single, 8-digit number, followed by the Authentication Code and Password saved in Stage 2. Ensure the Active box is selected and Save.
💡Tip
To successfully set up the FirstChoice Datafeed, ensure you enter the following details:
Account: An 8-digit code combining your Dealer Code and Adviser Code.
👉 Example: If your Dealer Code is 1234 and your Adviser Code is 0101, enter 12340101.
Authentication Code: Generated on the CFS FirstNet site.
Password: Created on the CFS FirstNet site (can also be reset there if needed).
The datafeed should be live within 72 hours.
Please check the File Received Last Date column from the datafeed landing page/datafeed codes page.
The last file received date should be within a few days of the current date.
Once the datafeed is established, you may also check this page to troubleshoot common datafeed issues.
💡Tip
It is a good idea to determine the code's expiry date from your provider and set a task for the following year to prevent datafeed interruptions.
If the datafeed credentials have expired and the datafeed has been inactive for some time the result will reflect in incorrect balances within the client's assets.
Stage 3
Map Client Accounts
Map Client Accounts
Once the datafeed is live you need to Map the client's accounts from the Datafeed to AdviserLogic.
Navigate to the Datafeed screen and select the provider from Datafeed Management > Select Platform from the dropdown.
Select the Adviser Code from the dropdown. option.
Search for the individual, and select the Map options.
Select the Map button. Choose From:
Create New - If the client is not added to Adviserlogic and you want to map the account code with the client without creating the client in the Fact Find.
Existing - To map the datafeed to an existing client. Recommended
Joint - To map the account code with the joint entity.
📌Note
Avoid mapping to the superannuation entity, as AdviserLogic creates this after the account is mapped.
Always map to the Client’s Name, SMSF, or Trust.
If Super Is the Policy Owner
When a super fund owns an insurance policy, it should be linked to the corresponding super fund account rather than the client or partner.
Please ensure that the relevant super fund account is already present in the client's superannuation section.
Once the account is mapped search for the client again and select the refresh button. This will force the data through immediately, rather than waiting the requisite 24 hours.
Investment Datafeeds are only available to users holding an Investment Adviser License or Comprehensive Adviser License.
Contact your CSM for more information on License Types.
