Datafeed Setup Instructions
Open the instructions for each stage of the setup process by clicking the arrow below.
Stage 1
Download Provider File
Download Provider File
CFS Custom operates as a manual datafeed, requiring users to download and upload files manually. Follow these steps to retrieve the datafeed file:
Navigate to the CFS website and log in with your credentials.
Request the Datafeed File
Go to FirstWrap Tools > Data Feeds.
Select Request Files.
Choose Request files for Generic EPI 3.2.
The files will take approximately 24 hours to generate.
Retrieve and Download the Datafeed File
Once the files are ready, return to the Data Feeds section.
Select Retrieve Files and then Download All Results.
Unzip the files and prepare for Stage 2.
Locating the Required Code in the Datafeed File Name
Once you have retrieved the CFS Custom Datafeed files, you will need to extract the required code from the file name for the final step of the setup.
Understanding the File Name Pattern
The downloaded files follow a structured naming pattern:
[FileType][Date][AdviserCode]_[FileNumber]
For example:
✅ INV20250220ABC123_01.csv
In this example:
FileType:
INV
(Investment data)Date:
20250220
(20th Feb 2025)AdviserCode:
ABC123
FileNumber:
01
(Sequential identifier)
Final Step: Entering the Code
Locate the Adviser Code in the retrieved file names.
This Adviser Code must be entered during the final step of the datafeed setup in AdviserLogic.
⚠️Important⚠️
Do not rename the file names, as any modification may prevent successful upload.
While waiting for the files to be generated, proceed to Stage 3 for further setup.
Stage 2
Upload File to AdviserLogic
Upload File to AdviserLogic
Upload manual datafeed file to AdviserLogic.
Log in to your AdviserLogic Account and go to Datafeeds > EPI (CSV) [within the 'Manual File Processing' group of options in the Datafeed menu].
Select Add Files then select the files you unzipped in the previous steps.
Once the file is successfully uploaded it will show in the window, along with a confirmation message.
The files will be processed overnight. Repeat this process regularly to ensure your data is up to date.
Within 24 hours the file will disappear from the list, this means it has been successfully updated.
⚠️Important⚠️
If the file name remains it means that there has been an issue with the upload. Repeat stages 1 and 2 again. If the issue persists, please contact support.
If you encounter a Server Error message while uploading files, try the previous steps again, this time uploading fewer files simultaneously. This should resolve the issue.
Stage 3
Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic
Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic
Follow the setup Datafeed instructions for AdviserLogic.
Go to Datafeeds, and from the Datafeed Codes screen select Add.
Select CFS Custom from the drop-down menu.
Please enter your CFS Custom (FirstWrap) Adviser Code in the window that opens.
💡Tip
Code is a minumum of 6, a maxiumum of 8 numeric digits
Understanding the File Name Pattern
The downloaded files follow a structured naming pattern:
[FileType][Date][AdviserCode]_[FileNumber]
👉 Example
✅ INV20250220ABC123_01
.csv
In this example:
FileType:
INV
(Investment data)Date:

(20th Feb 2025)AdviserCode:

FileNumber:

(Sequential identifier)
The datafeed should be live instantly. Please check the File Received Last Date column from the datafeed landing page/datafeed codes page.
The last file received date should be within a few days of the current date, if this date is older, or does not reflect the date the datafeed was last uploaded please contact Support.
Once the datafeed is established, you may also check this page to troubleshoot common datafeed issues.
Stage 4
Mapping Client Accounts
Mapping Client Accounts
Once the datafeed is live you need to Map the client's accounts from the Datafeed to AdviserLogic.
Navigate to the Datafeed screen and select the provider from Datafeed Management > Select Platform from the dropdown.
Select the Adviser Code from the dropdown. option.
Search for the individual, and select the Map options.
Select the Map button. Choose From:
Create New - If the client is not added to Adviserlogic and you want to map the account code with the client without creating the client in the Fact Find.
Existing - To map the datafeed to an existing client. Recommended
Joint - To map the account code with the joint entity.
Once the account is mapped search for the client again and select the refresh button. This will force the data through immediately, rather than waiting the requisite 24 hours.
📌Note
Avoid mapping to the superannuation entity, as this is created by AdviserLogic after the account is mapped.
Always map to the Client’s Name, SMSF, or Trust.
If Super Is the Policy Owner
When a super fund owns an insurance policy, it should be linked to the corresponding super fund account rather than the client or partner.
Please ensure that the relevant super fund account is already present in the client's superannuation section.
Investment Datafeeds are only available to users holding an Investment Adviser License or Comprehensive Adviser License.
Contact your CSM for more information on License Types.
General Information
What information does this feed provide?
This is a Manual Datafeed and potentially covers multiple platforms, including CFS FirstWrap, Investment Exchange, and Ultimate.
Investment Details: Unit Balance and Transactional Data, including purchases, redemptions, and distributions.
Superannuation Details, including Product, Start Date, and Account Number.
What information is not available?
Insurance Policy Information
What conflicts might it cause?
As a manual integration, this Datafeed relies on you to upload data files regularly to maintain balance and transactional data accuracy. Failure to regularly upload files will lead to inaccuracy over time.
The Avanteos Datafeeds are available for Class. If a Class Datafeed is active to AdviserLogic, it may conflict with any or all of the Avanteos Datafeeds and cause duplication.

Please read the Datafeed issues FAQ to help you resolve common datafeed issues.
