Open the instructions for each stage of the setup process by clicking the arrow below.

📧 Stage 1 Contact Provider

Contact Provider

Contact Desktop Broker to provide the most current datafeed credentials.

Email Desktop Broker to request the initiation of the Datafeed.

Please send the below email:

Subject: Request to Set Up Datafeed for AdviserLogic
To: [email protected]

We would like to request the setup of a datafeed to AdviserLogic for the following adviser:

  • Adviser: [Name]

  • Adviser Code: [Adviser Code]

  • Licensee: [Licensee Name]

Please confirm once the datafeed has been initiated.

Kind regards,
[Your Name]
[Your Contact Information]
[Your Company Name]

Once the datafeed is established, Desktop Broker will send you a confirmation email. This email will include a datafeed code, which you should note down as it will be required for Stage 2 of the setup process.

📌Note

Data feeds between Desktop Broker and AdviserLogic are enabled at the client account level and have to be set up manually
for each client account.

Any new account created will also require a matching datafeed setup.

You can do this by submitting application documents for a new account with a note in the email requesting the AdviserLogic
datafeed enabled.

⚙️ Stage 2 Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic

Setup Datafeed in AdviserLogic

Once you have the current datafeed credentials, you will need to follow the setup Datafeed instructions for AdviserLogic.

Go to Datafeeds, and select Datafeed Codes from the left menu panel. Select Add.

Select Desktop Broker from the drop-down menu.

Enter the six-digit code from Stage 1 and Save.

The datafeed should be live within 72 hours. Please check the File Received Last Date column from the datafeed landing page/datafeed codes page.
The last file received date should be within a few days of the current date.

Once the datafeed is established, you may also check this page to troubleshoot common datafeed issues.

If the last file received date is over a week in the past, or if the Password Current date is marked with a red cross, you will need to contact your provider to update the credentials entered.

💡Tip

It is a good idea to determine the code's expiry date from your provider and set a task for the following year to prevent datafeed interruptions.

If the datafeed credentials have expired and the datafeed has been inactive for some time the result will reflect in incorrect balances within the client's assets.

🔀 Stage 3 Map Client Accounts

Map Client Accounts

Once the datafeed is live you need to Map the client's accounts from the Datafeed to AdviserLogic.

Navigate to the Datafeed screen and select the provider from Datafeed Management > Select Platform from the dropdown.

Select the Adviser Code from the dropdown. option.

Search for the individual, and select the Map options.

Select the Map button. Choose From:

Create New - If the client is not added to Adviserlogic and you want to map the account code with the client without creating the client in the Fact Find.

Existing - To map the datafeed to an existing client. Recommended

Joint - To map the account code with the joint entity.

Once the account is mapped search for the client again and select the refresh button. This will force the data through immediately, rather than waiting the requisite 24 hours.

📌Note

Avoid mapping to the superannuation entity, as AdviserLogic creates this after the account is mapped.

Always map to the Client’s Name, SMSF, or Trust.

If Super Is the Policy Owner.

When a super fund owns an insurance policy, it should be linked to the corresponding super fund account rather than the client or partner.

Please ensure that the relevant super fund account is already present in the client's superannuation section.

Investment Datafeeds are only available to users holding an Investment Adviser License or Comprehensive Adviser License.
