MyDataLogic
MyDataLogic serves as a robust tool that effortlessly bridges the gap between a client's financial institution and AdviserLogic. The tool is included at no additional cost.
AdviserLogic's myDataLogic tool easily integrates with Basiq, an open banking platform, to provide real-time access to account information, functioning in a manner similar to investment data feeds. Its specialisation lies in securely handling a range of data types, including savings accounts, term deposits, home loans, and car loans.
myDataLogic Setup
When your client logs in to Client Login, they will see myDataLogic if this has been enabled at Client Login setup or via the client access screen.
myDataLogic Client Experience
From the client login view, your clients can navigate to the myDatalogic tab to commence the myDatalogic activation.
The client selects Add your first Bank account
They will be asked to confirm the terms and conditions prior to connecting their accounts.
Next, they can choose their financial institution from the available options.
The login page for the selected company will open, requesting their online banking credentials.
A confirmation prompt will allow them to finalise the connection.
Once the client completes the setup, their financial data is channelled directly into myDataLogic and subsequently their record in AdviserLogic within 24 hours.
📌Note
The client may need to log out and back into the Client Login to see the live feed once it has been established
The client has full control over which bank accounts are visible to the adviser, and the entire data feed is at their discretion.
They have the option to disconnect the feed or hide specific bank accounts whenever they choose.
This simple process saves time and enhances security by eliminating the need to transmit sensitive client information via email or other insecure methods.
myDataLogic AdviserLogic Integration
As the adviser, this means you always have access to the most up-to-date snapshot of your client's financial position.
You will see the accounts the client has chosen to show you within the myDataLogic tab on the client's record within your AdviserLogic account.
📌Note
If the balance seems incorrect in Adviserlogics Assets or liabilities screen please check the Date Column in the myDataLogic tab. The client may need to disconnect and reconnect the feed. If this doesn't work, please ask Ava to help troubleshoot or to speak with support.
The data will also flow through to the Assets/Liabilities screens, where it can be identified as MydataLogic information by the blue dot next to it.
Selecting the three-dot menu from the right side of the screen will allow you to see the transaction history for the account.
Client Requests
Clients can submit requests or notes through the Requests tab. These will appear in the adviser’s Notifications centre.
Other users can access and review client requests through the Tools section if they have permission to view clients assigned to the adviser.
Selecting the message opens it to show any additional comments made by the client
From the open Client Request screen you can post a reply.
Adjusting Access Levels
Access permissions can be managed at the time of setup or by returning to Tools > Adviser Tools > Client Access. You can update module access to View and Edit, View Only, or Hide.
📌Note
Client Home is always visible and cannot be hidden.
Assign or update the client access levels, scroll down and select Save.
Troubleshooting
Invalid Username or Password
If a client encounters this error, ask them to double-check the email they entered. If the issue persists, they can request a password reset on the login page or contact you to reset it.
⚠️Important
If the client did not receive the temporary password through the Welcome Email, you can manually configure the Client Login via Tools > Client Login > Manage Client Logins.
When setting or updating the password, ensure the Change Password checkbox is selected before entering the new password. This overrides the temporary password generated during the initial setup..
If the login was originally created through the Client Access screen and later updated via Tools > Client Login > Manage Client Logins, failing to select Change Password before entering a new password may result in the client receiving a "Username or Password is Incorrect" error when attempting to log in.
Session Expired
This error can occur for several reasons. In many cases, it happens when a browser or computer retains information from a previous login session, particularly if you have not logged in for some time. It may also occur if a browser window was closed without properly logging out, causing the previous session to expire.
Occasionally, the issue can affect new logins due to browser settings, cached credentials, or local computer permissions conflicting with the login process. Re-entering your login credentials, clearing your browser cache and cookies, or opening the Client Login page in a private/incognito browser window will often resolve the issue.
Morningstar Login Confusion
When experiencing login issues, it can be tempting to try every available sign-in option to gain access to your account. However, it is important not to select the Sign in with Morningstar button located at the bottom of the login screen, as this option is not intended for Client Login users and may prevent you from accessing your account correctly.
The Sign in with Morningstar option is intended for advisers and should not be used to access Client Login.
Access Level Error
If a client receives the message "You do not have the desired access level to the currently selected section", it is typically caused by a temporary browser or session-related issue. Ask the client to navigate to a different tab within Client Login and then return to the original section. This will usually refresh the page and resolve the issue.
⚠️Important
AdviserLogic and Client Login cannot be accessed within the same browser session. If you are logged in to AdviserLogic and attempt to access Client Login using the same browser, you may be redirected to the Morningstar login page or encounter authentication issues.
To test or access a Client Login account, use a different browser or open an Incognito/Private Browsing window.
